How are you getting along with the steep kicks on the Grimple pill?

I wonder if it is the BBS made board, or the China made board.

Depends on where in the world as to which one, but I think the BBS made board is way more mellow / normal.

As I have only seen the BBS made versions, not the China made board, I really don't know, but I have a feeling the China made board is made on a smaller regular mold so the wider it gets, the steeper it gets across the concave too.

The BBS molds for bigger boards have accounted for the extra width and are way more mellow by comparison, or at least that is my understanding.

* I could be wrong though, but I am curious to hear too.

never saw a 14 WB polar, especially since is skate the 8.125s myself.
was it labeled 14 WB or did you measure yourself?

genuinly interested

Sorry to jump in here, but I seem to recall seeing something about it in the Polar thread a while back.

Polar recently brought out some shorter versions, so if you check the Polar site and put in SHORT some clothing will come up but also any board on the short mold / shape, of which there is a number, 8.5 and 8.25 but also smaller boards too, as per this one:

https://polarskateco.com/products/emile-laurent-burnside-2084

8.125” X 31.75” - Short
Nose: 6.9”
Wheel Base: 14.0”
Tail: 6.7”

I think as per other brands bringing out shorter wb / shorter length boards, Polar also jumped on the current trend, if you could call it that, which I have seen some people really enjoying more than the regular shapes.

i will also add, what some might already know, is that polar is atrocious with their measurements. I just bought a few decks from their recent sale which were listed as 8.25 with a 14.125 wb and both measurements were wrong. The 14.125 wheelbase was a solid 14.25. They also mistakenly sent me a board with a sticker that said 14.25 and actually measured out to a 14.38. I'm not sure how these new 14 wb boards are hopefully they got their shit together but buyer beware.

Definitely feeling it. The horse pill is dank. Definitely made skating more fun with these size 13 feet . I can land more easily and confidently. The kicks took some getting used to cause there wide and the nose and tail is kinda stubby. They need to be like 7" and it would be perfect. Working on flip tricks wit it  . The wb is 14.25 so it's in that sweet spot . Cruising and carving on 215s is so sick . Take The horse pill you won't regret it .

Yeah the Grimple is China:

The difference is pretty big, both flat on the ground:

Some people like steeper kicks. Personally I haven't ridden the China one but feel like the BBS one needs no improvements.

enjoi gender benders probably the only out of place component. I'd expect something like rocket bolts or like randoms griptek.

would love to hear feedback on the tracker axis

Gender Benders with the Philips/Hex combo screw fit this, uhh, unconventional, setup well IMO. You could maybe say the grip doesn't but then I would make the case that Jessup could be considered a specialty non-abrasive grip.

Will have to get some miles on it to get a better feel for the trucks but my initial impression is that, unlike what they say about 80s Trackers, they do actually turn, quite well in fact.

Yeah. Nice mellow concave but kicks on the steeper side. Similar to Girl/Chocolate decks.

With a couple sessions behind me I would say the Tracker Axis trucks are fantastic. They are like Thunders with a slightly tighter turn radius (same wheelbase, different pivot angle). Hangers are very similar in look and feel. Baseplate sticks out more on the Trackers. Oh and no squeeking (knock on wood)!

Don't quote me, can't measure very accurately, but it would seem like the axle height of the Tracker Axis 161 is 55mm.

Edit: Ok so this was bothering me so I took one off so that I can measure it accurately..

Axle height (center of axle) of the Tracker Axis 161 is 53mm.

For a comparative measure they are exact same height as Tensor Mag Lite 5.75 (had a loose set around).

The S1 is like that. The S2 is B16-y, but the S3 (8.25 x 31.85) is much more substantial and full in the kicks with a bit steeper of a nose but not too severe. Their new catalog has a shape guide but I don't know where it is online.
