Posted my set up a while ago with Prize fighter cutlery wheels, a few of y’all were curious about them.
Finally got a grip of them back in stock.

would gnar but 1234 is sick

prize fighters harken back to a better slap time.
how are you liking them? what are they like?

Haven't skated in quite some time due to an injury, but the few sessions I got on them was great. They are kind of comparable to a 99 F4, but a little less grippy. the 101 formula doesn't feel as hard and slippery as a bones/ spit 101 and the urethane feels way higher quality. hope that answers your question.

Second this.

PFCs are scary close to a 99 F4. For those who want to rock with a wheel company that ain’t the big two, you’re not gonna find a better wheel.

Shit, I have a set in shrink that I was saving for a rainy day. Now that I know Cassette has em, I’m gonna have to cop.

soooooo are PFCs back or just old stock still floating around?

any places in euroland that might stock them?

Just in case you didn’t know: HSRs are meant to face the other way. The profile is wedged—some flip them on purpose for slide-grind leverage, but wanted to check it’s not accidental.

Did not know this (although it makes sense after thinking about it for a minute), good looking out. I like board hurricanes and board feebles too much so I’ll just leave them as is.

If I could find my fucking tape measure I’d get you measurements right now. I have to go to the hardware store at some point this week so provided I don’t forget I’ll pass the measurements along when I take them.

Using a 14.125 wheelbase as reference because it’s all I skate (or 14.5 if I’m skating Ace classics, but I digress) pop, turn, carve, stability, all that jazz all feels identical to skating AF1s, which makes sense because it’s AF1 everything (bushings, pivot cups, baseplate) besides the hangar.

That being said, my trucks are always superglued/loctited and then finger tightened, plus I boil my bushings before putting them back in the trucks and mashing the shit out of them, which I think removes any eccentricities that could (possibly, maybe) come from frankensteining it together.

had to put my money where my mouth is and buy this board.

8.5 Anti-Hero Nick Matthews
Thunder 149 Standards with Bones Mediums
Spitfire Classics 53mm 99d
Bones Swiss
Mob Grip
Bronze Bolts

Half-Cabs

Looks good! Likely my next board. Uprise sold out and local didn’t have it and I needed a new board for a trip so I just missed having it for my current board

Polar Shin 8.5 (from a few years ago - the original 8.5 shape with the longer tail/WB according to the sticker)
Mob
Indy hardware
Indy forged hollow 149 (bushings are aftermarket 92 top and 90 bottom: conical)
Spitfire F4 CF 99D 53MM

Initially set it up with an 8.5 DLX Skateshop Day deck to match the wheels, but that shape is too small for me now. Sub 32" length on a deck that measures more like an 8.3 with 14.25 WB on Indys?? It was excellent for trying back 360 kick flips, but mediocre at everything else hahah

I bought that a few years ago only to have them reach out and offer a replacement because they were out of stock. Still bummed lol.

Both setups look incredible, however I'm a sucker for the color scheme on the skate shop day setup

That's a bummer! I got lucky in finding it at a shop in Colorado during a sale. I skated 3 Polars straight, took a long break from them, and scored when I found this one. I debated saving/wall hanging at it.

May you find another board just as pristine soon!

@Reese Bruno thank you!! The color theme had me so stoked, but the board didn't feel right. I may try and go back to it with some thunders or ventures in the near future to enjoy it!

I sometimes spend more time looking at how cool they look than skating some sessions hahah! They also haven't turned that weird gross gray hue some pink-colored items tend to do

No it’s a new one.  The decks Jeremy Klein does are usually pretty pointy with very little concave which, to me, is sick for something different

I just set up this new deck, so perfect time to share a photo of mine

Yup! I normally don't seek out dipped boards but I got this one super cheap from a Cowtown sale awhile back. I do love how it looks but it's already all beat up looking from one session lol
