About half way through around the Chief story, guy is kinda fried but interested in the rest. Figured with the Useless Wooden Knowledge crew they’d be dropping bombs since there’s really nothing to lose so far.

What's the deal with the useless wooden knowledge insta? I've seen it mentioned a few times in various threads but I haven't been able to put it together on what the issue is. Someone who runs it said something or stands for something unsavory?

I was really curious to hear shimizu had any dill or ave stories in relation to FA but never mentioned them once. Mentioned other people (guy, Gino) visiting the warehouse but not those dudes. Says he heard of FA through Donovan piscopo? This one left me with some head scratching. I did enjoy his stories of early nike days foundation and what not. Grew up idolizing his that’s life part.

Boserio referring to a Ford 15-passenger van as “y’know one of the ones you would hit El Toro in” was fucking hilarious

Psyched for Boserio! I’ve read maybe one interview with him.

...

Shimizu was a solid one. Some funny stories, definitely fried, but not too boring.
Fools are playing or ignorant if they don’t think Nike’s plan was to get a P. Rod or the like later on.. that first Nike squad was incredible and definitely a respect earner for them. They planned their domination carefully second time around.

Anyway, I’ve always appreciated how much he rocked the hurricane. I love that trick and I love to see it done well.

Totally agree. I'd never heard him speak before and only knew him as the intense looking dude who pushes like a madman after landing a trick. Turns out he's your typical likeable Aussie. It's realizations like this that make long conversational podcasts so valuable.

Loved the interview. Gotta chime in. As someone who barely skates switch, switch smith is kind of a who cares trick. Funny Brass called him out on it (not trying to hate either). Switch smith is one of those, ya you’re good, but who cares tricks.

Even Boz said he’s got five tricks basically but at least he’s got some stand outs. Proves the way you do it > what you do

Too true. I can watch Nick ollie gaps and do 5050s all day. GT's part in Constant comes to mind as well.. not very diverse trick wise but speed and style trumps all imo.

I wish they'd ask for clarification on things sometimes.
Like, why Chris Cole for worst team mate? He seems pretty mellow?

Nicks tripping, switch smith is such a g trick. Mostly because it’s so rare but also cus it usually doesn’t look super switch when people do it. I feel like most switch back smiths all look the same, shoulders closed off, looking down, awkward arm stee, not fully dipped most the time. A lotta the greats that did switch smith their shoulders are open during or after the trick, there’s more style on the roll away, arm stee during the trick looks better. Koston’s is a perfect example. Absolute chefs kiss on that one.

One thing didn’t add up unless I heard it wrong….So Dill told his boy to tell Brassario Dawson to “please just stop trying” regarding getting on AWS..but he was clearly on and that life splicing was a great way to introduce dude to people. Especially people that weren’t familiar.
did that life splice come out while he was still flow and he never fully got on or what? I don’t even mmmmm Maybe he explained this and I’m just fried but that was a good one.

Going around saying “it didn’t work out because he choked the shit outta Dill one night” for no reason other than that’s funny as hell even though it didn’t happen is next level funny.

Kirby episode is good. He's well-spoken. Really wanted to hear an example of Sheckler's clever, subtle roasts. Bones wheels story was pretty fucked up.

He kinda sounded like a jaded and opinionated slap pal - haha

Surprised he dogged his own style so much, I always thought he looks good on a board, especially on transition.

Gravettes one of my favorites so it was pretty funny to hear him get thrown under the bus a bit

I always wondered if Gravette’s meltdowns were insufferable in person. I second the notion that Kirby sounds like a SLAP PAL, this was great.
