I don’t think we should be bashing The Bunt guys for this. Keelan was a big topic on here for a while, and we all know what the papers said. We kept an eye on the court case and came to our own conclusions. In my opinion, this interview solidified his guilt.

I haven’t heard any other interviews, nor would I have gone out of my way to listen to what he has to say. If anything, it’s a win-win: The Bunt boys get the views, and everyone can make up their minds about what happened, especially with the way he danced around it using the ‘dad dying’ excuse. Yeah, ok, and?

Shorty’s shouldn’t be associating with him, as it definitely puts a black mark on the brand. I won’t be rocking Black Panther bearings, that’s for sure. I don’t think The Bunt or Keelan himself did him any favors.

TL;DR: Keep bashing Keelan, not The Bunt.
[close]

Naw, they made a big mistake thinking they could platform him and ‘clear the air’. Fuck all that, they are accountable in that.

Exactly this.

Saying "let's hear both sides" or whatever is the same argument Rogan fans were making when he was having quack COVID deniers and anti-vaxers at the peak of the pandemic when masking up and vaxing mattered most. You should just not let certain people talk to your audience, period.

I'm bummed at the bunt boys for this one. Shit sucks
none of us skate we just make fun of it

Allen.

**Not defending The Bunt for putting him on***

What evidence has the public seen for his guilt, or even for his innocence? I have no clue what happened, and for the record, I definitely lean closer to thinking he was involved, but if we’re going to use Rogan and Covid mis/dis information as a comparison (I agree with your argument against Rogan, btw), we also would probably agree that cops and DA’s do get things wrong… again, that is not an argument that I think that they did in this instance… But they could have gotten it wrong. It’s not much of a stretch to argue that especially in the instance of a young, black man ignorant to the “real” world - “I’ve never clocked in before!,” the system far too often does get things horrifically wrong..
Now, that said, they could have gotten it wrong by letting him go. They also could have gotten it wrong by charging him. I don’t know. We don’t know.

If someone wants to jump through the hoops and get the records, go for it, but we are assuming a lot here based on not a lot. Like I said… I do think he was involved and it should be reminded that innocent, not guilty, and case dismissed are three different things.

I went to #jschool and think that they should have pressed him much, much more if they were going to platform him. His answer was an anxiety filled non answer, which is sadly akin to Jason Jesse’s ramblings on The Nine Club. This is sadly a misstep, imo. Finally I don’t think I’m aware enough of the evidence to 100% assume guilt or innocence but I do not like his answer in the slightest and it gives me the creeps.
For someone w.no signature ur awfully hostile, & that is why I do this

I DM'd like a man and here was the response

me:
are you guys not aware that keelan dadd was involved with baby scumbag with pedo charges? also the 10k a month text? you guys are really blowing it with this one. not sure why anyone fucks with this dude at all. he is straight garbage.

Bunt:
We’re aware of it all, understand your thought process, all charges against him were dropped, should listen to the ep to get the real story. Wanted to shed light on one of skateboardings biggest falls from stardom. Obviously was a risky ep to record and release, but we did our research.

holy shit these two are wild kooks

they're going to get away with this by next week, when they post a new episode and pretend this didn't happen.
we have the power to not let that happen.

Easy there, fella. Sure it was a bad look to have him on the show but there's no need to talk like you're going scorched earth on a podcast. That said, Keelan is a fucking idiot and skateboarding was better off when he and his enormous ego weren't part of the conversation.

agreed, the bunt dudes tried but when they asked for more details in a question phrased as "what your accused of is horrible, so what actually happened?" keelan gave no details and kinda danced around it saying different variations of "i got through it." if i was accused of something like that I would be making it very clear how I wasnt involved. its not impossible hes innocent, and i really hope so, but his public opinion case is pretty shit and thats important when youre a public figure. we all know how the legal system can fail due to many various reasons.

I respect the bunt guys, but the fuckin hyphenate's interview was more pressing on the case details then them, but keelan's answers give a little more details but still pretty dodgy. he compared himself to CK1 which was extremely tasteless too.

Fiinished the interview and the fact that he couldn't simply reiterate what he already said on a different podcast is an insane red flag too. Props where it's due to Dono for trying to press him I GUESS, but to reiterate what someone said in the Chris Cole thread, there's no real journalism in skateboarding. I'm just so confused as to why they decided to interview him in the first place since it's pretty obvious that no one in the industry will (at least visibly) touch him with a ten foot pole. I don't think being strapped for interviews is a hood argument either considering they do all of them well ahead of time. I just don't see why they couldn't have gotten another Canadian homie instead of actually brought back an old guest, which they still have yet to do.

I saw your mom do a ollie to cooch drop straight down the big black pole, it was gnarly. she defiantly shut that shit down

Would have been ok if he actually cleared things up and told his side but he didn't really answer anything and just comes across as more guilty. The episode was entertaining enough due to how delusional and arrogant he is. He is also clearly a massive mysogonist as well as a (alleged) pedofile/child molester. He seemed funny and charismatic enough which I suppose is how he charmed and lured impressionable 12 year olds

Don’t normally listen to them, but figured I’d check this out since back from like 2010-2015ish Keelan was one of my favorites, and man, skaters are just not capable of interviewing people about serious subjects. His answers were non answers and didn’t provide any depth. His other interviews had more to them. If charges as serious as these were dropped against me I’d give clarifying details about why and what happened.

He hangs out with everyone still but no sponsors will touch him and it’s apparent why.

“as you see dadd eats an orange when confronted by the two interviewers. this represents discomfort in dadd. you see in stressful situations like these individuals tend to use food as a coping mechanism.”

Maybe shouldn’t have had him on the pod, lots of people are unhappy. And since they say “doin it for the people” maybe they should consider that next time they are strapped for a guest.

Keelan Dadds a big enough kook to not deserve a redemption even without the pedo business. I'm surprised the Bunt guys who are known for calling out illegal tricks were fans of the guy doing switch double heels and pressure flips all the time.

Had a good convo with Dono and I have a better understanding why they would put this guy on the show.
I personally don't like to give guys like this a platform and Dono seemed pretty understanding of that. Fortunately, I don't think this will launch Keelan back to 10k a month or anything like that.

This is coming from someone who was a MASSIVE fan of Keelan's skating. When the ad of the switch flip came out over Cherry park i couldnt believe it was a real picture.

I can imagine skateboarding is likely the only thing positive that Keelan probably even knows in his life... If I had to guess, he probably never finished high school and never had to work any other job, the fact that he thought $10k a month was not enough money comes from a place of extreme delusion. I find it hard to believe he was even making that much, like man were people really buying that many DGK clothes and boards in 2015 or whatever? Does Tiago even make that much from Primitive?

I don't get it. What even is the point for him to try to get back into the skate industry at 35 if not to clear his name from the accusations? Dude talked nothing about what actually happened and what the case was about. Pretty odd for the bunt to even release the episode even if it was pretty funny otherwise

The only thing about Lil Wayne in skateboarding, and in general I care about is that one of his songs was used for Herman's Baker Has a Deathwish part.
Also the Lenoce shared part. I really like that song. Maybe because whenever I listen to it it makes me think of switch heel manuals.

This has been my take since this all went down. The LA DA fucked up and charged Steven and also tried to charge him as an adult. He was 15 when the assault went down. If they woulda just left it at the actual adults in the situation and charged Keelan and Steven's cousin, they would have had a case. Instead they tried to make some muddled statement about social media fame and the whole case just went away.

Don't forget how poppin that Haters stuff was mid-teens. I think DGK actually did have 10K a month to pay their riders. The Kayo store on Fairfax was that same era and what was that even for?

It seems kinda hard to get any solid court or case info on a Google search. I saw tons of articles about the arrest but didn’t dive in too far on any. LA courts websites are a little hard to navigate, for me at least, and you may have to pay a fee to get actual results. I looked at a site called “Truthfinder” and it compiled tons of data and documents but you’ll also have to submit your personal info and pay a fee to get the complete report. Not sure if the prompts on that site are standard but it said “this info may be graphic in nature. Affiliated to dating and escort websites.” and some other random stuff that doesn’t seem like it would come up when searching most individuals. Where’s LPQ when you need them?

I DM'd like a man and here was the response

me:
are you guys not aware that keelan dadd was involved with baby scumbag with pedo charges? also the 10k a month text? you guys are really blowing it with this one. not sure why anyone fucks with this dude at all. he is straight garbage.

Bunt:
We’re aware of it all, understand your thought process, all charges against him were dropped, should listen to the ep to get the real story. Wanted to shed light on one of skateboardings biggest falls from stardom. Obviously was a risky ep to record and release, but we did our research.

I got arrested for graffiti when I was 23. The charges included felony vandalism, trespass, and possession of graffiti tools.

All of those charges were dropped due to a technicality in the court systems and how the officer handled my search and arrest.

Did I do the crimes?
You betchya.

Something to consider.

Perfect take^^

Many many years ago I got arrested for 48 plants, fun guy cultivation, and 5,000 Xan still in MX wrapping (with a return bus ticket in the bag for the day of my arrest). I fought it longer than 6 years, never took a deal, and they finally dropped charges when we were halfway through picking jurors. It only happened because I wouldn’t talk. Name and DOB only.

Also….. Fuck that guy. People affiliated with OF is cringe in so many ways

Edit*. Just to be  clear, my point is just because the state stops prosecuting, in no way means the crimes didn’t occur.
