I'm baffled. What does all this mean? V001? V002? Help. Must. Need. Know.

Will buy regardless, of course. Awake for life.

I don't think it is the product, so much as it is the riders.

Who knows though - wait and see if they have more, but at the very least, it gets people talking.  These skaters didn't get a pro truck recently did they?  I didn't check, but it could be something as simple as that.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

What happened to Gilbert Crockett and Venture? It seems like a bunch of people that were on a DLX truck brand have been riding the other recently.

Which are similar aftermarket bushings than the stock purple ones?

I had Hollow Hi, which had bent axel. Out of curiosity I ordered cast lows (Gilbert Crockett). I didn't like the white bushings they came with. Switched the purple ones from old trucks and they feel amazing at least doing flat ground.

Yup, stock orange 90a indys BUT, if you get old stock they will be taller, aftermarkets are shorter and now match newer stock indys.

DLX is here, just low key compared to how they used to be.

Guessing it could end up being almost a full time job on its own, but I wouldn't know how long someone spends replying to all the email / web site requests, the social medias, the phone calls, etc.

Any which way, I could definitely see a benefit from having a steady supply of stock Venture bushings for shops, those green bushings in regular and low would be great, but the usual purple bushings would be nice too.

ive had a pair of 5.8s i really wanted to axle, but i had to ditch them last week even though they had a bunch of meat on them.  the axle had stripped so much that there wasnt enough material on the axle to hold the nut.  i have a pig tool and i am very careful about re-threading the axles straight and only when needed.  it sucks because ventures are my favorite truck bar none, but my 5.6s died a few years ago in the exact same way.

right now i have some old ACE 44 classics i bought on a whim, and im going to skate those out of misplaced obligation.  but i am definitely going to pick up a pair of ventures down the road.  so my question is, how do i prevent this on the next set?

edit: also to be clear, not saying this is a venture specific problem.  ive just been on ventures for a minute, so its only happened on them

I did the same on a set of thunders years ago and totally stripped the threads using an Amazon skate tool. I've been running 2/3 washers on the inside and one on the outside to keep the nut flush with the axle.

This is the answer, if the nut is flush at the end it should stop almost any damage to the axle.  May need to buy a new axle nut every once in a blue moon if they get really bashed in.

I mean, they sell Thunder replacements so they clearly have the capacity to produce more bushings than go into trucks. At this point I am sure they have had enough warranty requests that they know the top bushings get chewed up and that people would buy them. Maybe the Supercush didn't sell well enough? A this point it seems that they simply don't want to bother.

Rethreading axles is rarely worth the effort but if you do get a proper rethreader from Ace or Indy that fit into the socket of a skate tool. The Y-tool rethreaders are easily to misalign and on a stubborn thread you can end up snapping the tiny bits of plastic holding the rethreader to the body of the tool.

Safest bet is to ride with 2 washers on the inside and 1 on the outside of the axle so the thread is never exposed.

Replacing axle nuts frequently has really solved similar axle re-threading issues for me, and prolonged the life of many trucks this year. It took me almost 40 years of skating to figure this out! 😂

Whenever I stack 2 washers on the inside of the wheel, I end up bending axles. Every major truck brand so far (never skated slappy trucks).  I’m only 145 lbs. I do stomp my flip tricks a lot. Am I the only one still bending axles in 2024? I do skate lots of street, flips, ledges, slappy grind, etc. No transition to speak of.

I have 8.0 and 8.25 truck madness. When I run 8.25s, I do one washer on the inside and two or three on the outside. It's maybe not as aesthetically pleasing as the reverse but it keeps the axles from getting smashed up

I've got bend axels both with Thunder hollow lights and Venture Hollow hi. I don't know if it's the hollow axel... Never had this problem before. I skate flat, small transition and parks.

Now I got Venture low standard 5.2. Let's see if the axel bends now. I'm like 182 lbs...

I've slightly bent axles on every truck brand. Nothing catastrophic but you'll see it a ton if you ever go into the bin of shit people leave at the shop.

in the dern bros latest video about the west la courthouse:

crob says he was trying to pop shuv nose grind the stage on indys, switched to ventures and did it, then went back to indys and then couldn't do it again

so there you go irrefutable proof ventures reign supreme
