Damn, I totally slept on Thee Oh Sees...last album I listened to was Floating Coffins...had to look up the name because all I remember were the strawberries with faces, on the cover.

been listening to the b-sides from OK Computer...can't believe it's been 20 years since it came out

edit: Aside from the first two tracks on the second disc, it sucked. Don't waste your time on the b-sides.

Had no idea a couple sublime/bad brains covers existed.

The opening track off of Air's "Music for Museum", my favorite release of theirs since "The Virgin Suicides".

King Gizz's third album this year. I didn't care much for previous two as I thought the microtonal stuff was underwhelming for how ambitious it sounded on paper and Murder of the Universe just got ridiculous and repetitive with all the spoken word storyline bullshit. This album i guess is a "jazz album", and normally I don't care much for jazz, but I think they did a great job here. Really nice mellow vibes, awesome instrumentals, and they change things up enough throughout to keep it from getting stale (something that both 2017 albums suffered from IMO). It has a similar sound to Paper Mache Dream Balloon and Quarters, so if you dig those albums or just some mellow vibes, give this a listen.

Brand New's potentially final album randomly dropped yesterday.

To me, it's incredible.

Been stuck on this as well, and I personally think the same. Although I feel they played it safe sonically, the lyrics in this are beautiful. I don't mind how similiar it sounded in comparison to their previous albums. This thing will be on repeat for quite a while.

New Oneohtrix Point Never release!

It's a soundtrack, to this movie "Good Time", that I know nothing about, but it's got some good tracks on the album.

This song really isn't too representative of the rest of the album; but it's cool, and unexpected, that he was able to do a collaboration track with Iggy Pop:

It's off a new album, coming out in two months.

I think it's progression, just a whole other mood from Daisy and Devil & God. Supposedly final album. If so, what a tease. Also not a bad way to go out. It's too good.

so many good albums dropped today. giving this new tobacco a shot. pretty good so far and this track definitely goes.

new QOTSA was great. i wasnt feeling the leak, but the sound quality was garbage so hearing it the way its supposed to sound was a treat. only 9 tracks, but not a single filler.

new Liars was good. pretty mellow, but i still enjoyed it.

checked out gogol bordello's new one too. haven't listened to them in a while and it was a fun album.

i post too much oh sees crap, but that album is probably going to be my album of the year. dwyer killed it.

Yeah I saw that a new Tobacco release dropped recently. Haven't listened to them in a few years, looking forward to checking out the new one.

New Tera Melos recently leaked as well:

I haven't given the new album a full listen, but I'm a big fan of a lot of their previous releases.

I dunno if you already listen to them, JB, but they seem like something I think you'd be into.

Math-rock cover they did, of the "Pete & Pete" theme, with some of their interpretation of The Beach Boy's "God Only Knows", mixed into the middle:

New Hammock album dropped recently too.

It's been a long while since I listened to a new release of theirs.

This song is from an older album, but it's a super good, post-rock track, with ambient influences.

The new album is much more in the style of ambient music.

There was a video fender made of the guitar player from tera melos demoing one of their new amps and I really liked his playing. I don't think I've ever listened to their music though. Whats a good place to start?

I don't know where I really stand with math rock. I like some of the more melodic stuff, but some of it is so over the top with the time signatures and technicality. It's hard for me to listen to stuff when my brain can't figure out what's going on. My brother digs all that shit, but he's a really good drummer and he's always been a super technical player.
