Best enjoi ads.

Not sure if this is enjoi or Tiltmode, but the guy doing a tailslide filmed by a giant VX1000 with a mirror for a lens. Very humorous. "Deathlens", etc. Trying to find the image to post it, I even tried Google, I came across what was obviously a landslide of shit ads. Most referenced in the thread I've linked to fall into that category.

Mullen was their autistic* soul.

EDIT: * artistic. Come to think of it this may have had nothing to do with enjoi or Tiltmode.

Belle & Sebastian really do suck. They came into existence so they could pony up with Wes Anderson.

Fuck Spike Jonze, too, while we're at it. Whole lotta fuckin' goin' on.

B&S were gold up until Catastrophe Waitress. Then I switched to Camera Obscura.

Aye, Wullie. You called it on Belle & Sebastian. Stellar discography until then. Camera Obscura were great, too (R.I.P. Carey).

In TWS (or the skateboard mag?) there used to be US ARMY ads. I've looked but can't find them online. We had a few skate mags monthly at my very small highschool's library - a few older skaters before my time had signed them up and they kept coming. I would cut out ads I liked, but remember cutting these out and trashing them. Shame on any publication geared toward kids that promotes joining the military before they're old enough to make informed decisions.

any of the old 1/4 page ads in lowcard are pretty fucking cringe worthy.

How about that time a fake Ben Nordberg account made fun of Chris Cole's sponsored #GoPro / Tour De France post and Cobra @ replied, clearly fooled and talked shit back to Ben Nordberg.

The real Nordberg replied to Cobra saying it wasn't him LOL

 Well, he certainly wasn't wrong.

Was it an Osiris or a Shorty's Kids ad back in the mid-2000's that had three separate photos of young kids hitting big handrails with their age in a bigger font than their names and then one more panel at the bottom that said 'keep skateboarding fun'? Always thought the irony in that one was quite something.

Can't remember who those kids were exactly, but IIRC one or two of them turned out to become pretty big names.

This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

I know two of them were Torrey pudwill, and Marius. I think the other one might’ve been baby Wes kremer.

Pointing out something obvious, but clearly overlooked here; you are equating their taking exception to the objectification of humans, and the exploitation of the emotional/physical needs of other humans to a disdain for masculinity. Maybe the marketing didn’t land well with them, because, sexy or no, it’s in questionable taste. Maybe they’re just not the target audience. I don’t know.
But your leap to defend a notion of masculinity that wasn’t in any way under attack speaks volumes.
For the record: I was a fan of the ads, even if I never bought a set of Hubbas. That shit would be embarrassing to be seen on.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

I always gave Sonic a pass.

Unrelated note, one of my issues of Slap from 1995 had a scented cardboard cK One ad right in the middle. The whole magazine ended up smelling like unisex cologne.

Masculine dudes have loved T and A and booze for ages but now there's so many sissies looking down on it. So I guess yeah sissies aren't the target audience.
