Being on Vans would be sick and make more sense.

However, I wish they would officially put on Austyn & Jerry.
Realistically, how many more years do those two have compared to tfunk? I would also like to see them on but I don't think its happening.

So what’s the retail move here? Every colorway of his shoe hit sale racks. Do they pay you to take them?
[close]

I don’t get the issue.  It’s not like an Anthony Davis Pelicans jersey.   Is it that hard to sell a shoe if the rider doesn’t ride for them (assuming there’s no contractual reason they cant)

I don’t get it either. Like if Emerica was selling tons of Reynolds, just change the name and keep selling them. How many people are really buying skate shoes for the name?

Flip side of that is skaters are so into looking like other skaters it could fail miserably.

Vans actually seems like a more appropriate spot for him then DC. I could see him following boss/kader over there.

unless there's some real ugly shit in his closet that we don't know about then i don't think there is any chance at being dropped.

Lol at people thinking he got dropped just for being a jerk/douche bag. Skate teams would be barren if they abided by those limits.

He and Tom Remillard are the only two that people seem to go out of their way to mention that they are horrid

In what way is he a turd?

He probably quit when he saw his TM talking shit on him in Thrasher ?

what did the TM say?

Thrasher : On the flip side of that, is there anybody who is difficult to work with?

JG: I think the person who can be the most difficult is T-Funk. But not in a way that I don’t enjoy being around him. He challenges me in the best ways and teaches me to be more patient. He’s a really good dude and maybe just a bit misunderstood.
[close]

That's not really talking shit on him. Sounds like a subtle hint for him to buck his ideas up. But if he's a dick then maybe he took it personally rather than as a piece of advice
[close]

I thought it read like he is one of those dudes who is just a constant pest to everyone around, but in a funny way so he's enjoyable to be around, but now and again he just needs a good  kick in the arse to keep him in line.

Its not like he's been called out repeatedly on the bunt or anything.
[close]

Elissa intimated he sucks in the Baker 4 article as well.   In videos he’s looks and acts like a shitty 15 year old, but then you realize he’s like 20
When you’re as old as me, the difference between 15 and 20 might as well be the difference between 64 and 65.

Although I tried to act flash on a previous page guessing he might be on Vans, I really hope he isn't. He does some cool things here and there but seems quite 'trend hoppy', don't get me wrong, he's alright to watch but doesn't seem all that authentic to me. I dunno, maybe I just feel like he never properly grew into his own style, just seems like an amalgemation of instagram kids channeled into one greasy baker dude.

Jerry is obviously done as a professional skateboarder, but they might pay him a little. The Sci-Fi x Vans collab was very popular.

That is what I am hoping for. The thing with Hsu & Gillette is they are timeless in terms of style and what they have done in skateboarding. Both are always working on other projects outside of skateboarding that garner interest. I will bet first one to admit I think Scifi Fantasy is bland and silly, but it sells and hits a market. Hsu could get on a film 45 seconds a people would lose their minds. Gillette; full part or a wild welcome clip.

I’m always wary of website team lists, I think most companies neglect them since they don’t get as much traffic as they did pre social media. Stevie isn’t on the team page, but he still has a million colorways of two different variations of his shoe for sale on their store page. Also John Gardner is still on the team page even though he’s technically not in the team anymore since he was bumped to TM.

Also in a recent interview, John Gardner said T-Funk was the hardest to deal with on the team. Maybe that had something to do with him leaving.

Moving forward, I'm going to have to make more of a concerted effort to avoid seeing any T-Funk media. Looking down at my shoes, which are often Vans, and being reminded of T-Funk would be absolutely tragic.

I get why people are quick to throw him in a river with no disregard to smothering the boy in suntan lotion and mayonnaise - but his skateboarding is indeed fucking crazy and he’s definitely earned a spot wherever he goes. He also pumps out more footage than a lot of people on the teams he’s on. It’s just a shame he has no soul and will burn in hell for eternity.
