take a look at the tum yeto website, it’s absolute trash. terrible layout, difficult to navigate shop and they don’t have any type of blog/ad archive/team page. huge missed opportunity to do cool shit over there.

 
Totally agree. Not too long ago, interested in buying the raccoon Foundation X Thorn board. So frustrated with website , just gave up . Even more frustrating than trying to buy a Mu$ka reissue.. think I'm giving up on that too

I'm just gonna chime in to say that a lot of photographers are fucking creeps.

I'm into photography and street photography myself, I can understand and appreciate the artform, even of street photography that blurs the lines of ethics. I take street photos and sometimes I have to question the ethics of it with myself too, and I know I'm not beyond scrutiny.

That being said, I follow a bunch of photographers on insta and a significant amount of them are fucking weird in the worst ways. Creepy, condescending, narcissistic, perverted, all qualities that the average person can display but I see it displayed a lot with photographers. The line gets so blurred with what's right and what's artistic expression, and so many photographers seem to hide behind this thought to the point where you can't tell who's genuine about their projects, and who's just a creep or kook trying to shock people and themselves.

Interesting how things change. I used to love toy machine and always thought that Ed was pretty cool. Now the boards suck ass and Ed is a creep.
I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in my life regarding a skateboarding brand.

Yeah, changing where your boards are made every few months and having no consistent shapes is not helping. Hard to be a loyal pawn to something that changes so much. Graphics have been ass for over a decade.

Someone above said Toy went down hill after 2000 and they're right. I think Toy had a place for the alternative/queer/artsy for a while. Great skating/skaters, great aesthetic. Once skating got bigger they got watered down, mostly by their own doing. Ed has never been hands on enough, and quite honestly he was lucky Jamie took the reins when he did.

Interesting to think that Jamie did his best work with them, too, before he pioneered the Hot Topic skating aesthetic.

Once skating got bigger they got watered down, mostly by their own doing. Ed has never been hands on enough, and quite honestly he was lucky Jamie took the reins when he did.

I get that Dan Lu doesn’t control the release/sale of the boards, but having your name/signature connected to that predator seems like a really risky move to his rep/career. This whole thing stinks.

And just a reminder that creep was charged in March, and was scheduled for trial in August (delayed due to COVID) so this isn’t a case of we didn’t know/too late. Toy is digging their own grave on this one.

Someone else in this thread pointed out that Dan Lu skated to, and might be friends with, the Growlers, who were at the center of the Burger Records controversy this year. Maybe he’s not as squeaky clean as he wants people to believe.
