Any info about skate paige?

https://skatepaige.com/index.html

I'm moreso interested in the uncut blanks, but I have no idea who these guys are. I want to assume Hosoi Skateboards use them, since they sell his shape.

The board is the "hammer" and doesn't actually mention Hosoi or his "Hammerhead" so there is a good chance it is just a copy of his shape, which doesn't have a patent or copywrite on it.

A good read on the info page, re companies using cheaper options.

A couple of other reviews of the decks seem decent and it is so hard to get uncut boards at the moment too, so if that is your thing, it could work well.

The 9.5 blank seems like it has 14.0 wheelbase and the 10.5 has 15.0 wheelbase, but you could always change that easily enough.

Two videos of the boards, more so just to see the concave and have a better look at them.

I went for one of the uncut 10.5" decks. I'll probably do a follow up post after I receive and cut it.

Will be cool to hear your feedback on the uncut deck, I’ve been wanting to order a couple for a while but I’ve been hesitant.

Got the deck today and cut it. It took about a week from purchasing the deck to receiving it.

It arrived just as in the video above. There was a little stamp stating the specs and its USA origins.

The measurements are not as listed. This woodshop measures the wheelbase from the top of the bolt holes instead of the middle, so the wheelbase was actually smaller. Just small enough that it ruined my template and I needed to use an old deck for its wheelbase. The blank also measured around 11.5" instead of 10.5"

The mounting holes were also off center.

(I don't have a spirit level, so this has to do.)

Results in very ugly mounting holes after I drilled a 14.5" wb.

At least the trucks look straight enough to be usable. (Thunder 161 Hollow Lights)

(I am not finished with this shape. I still need to sand off more wood and even things out.)

Aside from the very sloppy mounting holes, the deck itself seems fine. I can't speak for the actual skating quality of it since I'm still healing from a broken leg, but I plan to get another one, cut it into the shape I've posted, and send it to a friend to test it out. Thankfully skate paige sells uncut decks without mounting holes, since I don't trust them to drill holes anymore.

Looking good, especially your shape on it.

I didn't want to say but those other decks just look ridiculous when shaped (from old mate in the video).  I am sure Andy Anderson is rad, but his specific shape makes me want to never see those boards again.  That is just me, so opinions don't matter that much.

Interesting about the wheelbase and holes drilled though.  I have seen a few boards over the years that were cut off center and they still rode fine but were all kinds of weird.

Thank you. I'm still pretty new to cutting decks, so it's nice to hear I'm doing well.

I don't like those shapes either, they remind me of weird longboards for some reason.

I ordered from skate paige on the 13th of December and still haven’t heard anything back aside from the original automated email they sent. I emailed and called to get an eta and have gotten no response. If I remember correctly I ordered like 5 shaped blanks so I get it would take a little longer but I’m starting to get a little sussed out. Were they responsive for everyone else in this thread who ordered?
As soon as Nelson hears that anything is “small and intimate” he gets paranoid he’s not invited and goes crazy to get there, so he put his mind to it and got there through someone else. It turned out to be thousands of people there so when he saw Paul he said, “Small, intimate world, isn’t it?

I ordered 3 uncut blanks on 12/24. On 1/4 I called them and the person on the phone said they were just extremely backed up, I recieved a fedex tracking number on 1/5. Shipment is scheduled to be delivered by the 12th. I would call again to make sure they process and ship your order.

Yep sounds like the way to go. I’ve actually called twice and neither time did they pick up. I only left a message once. Maybe I’m not calling at a good time? I’m still calling during their hours listed on the website so I don’t know. At around what time did you call? Really just grasping at straws at this point hahaha

I called at 3:14 PM. Definitely bug them to see what's up.

Update:
Just called and the dude who picked up seemed super stressed. Said he had thousands of emails and getting to all of them would be impossible. He said the earliest he could get to my order was next week. I’m not in a rush and I’m just happy to hear back. Thanks for the help!
As soon as Nelson hears that anything is “small and intimate” he gets paranoid he’s not invited and goes crazy to get there, so he put his mind to it and got there through someone else. It turned out to be thousands of people there so when he saw Paul he said, “Small, intimate world, isn’t it?

I think there were some in the Setups thread, maybe some in the woodshop thread as well, or the New stuff thread, but I also found a couple of threads just for him too.

People like them.

@anyone skating a skate paige deck:

How are they holding up? Anything feel different compared to BBS/PS? Trying to decide if I should continue getting uncuts from them (as if there are any better options out there).

yea, skate warehouse blanks are really good. good shapes too.
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

Pretty flat, not for me but my buddy swears by them. Are they done by clutch?

New moose blanks are different wood. I one last year and a few weeks ago. The current one is control going by the made in Canada sticker.  the old ones were Chinese made.

I’ve never brought myself to buy a cal7 blank. They look sus.

Any info about skate paige?

https://skatepaige.com/index.html

I'm moreso interested in the uncut blanks, but I have no idea who these guys are. I want to assume Hosoi Skateboards use them, since they sell his shape.
[close]

[close]

Will be cool to hear your feedback on the uncut deck, I’ve been wanting to order a couple for a while but I’ve been hesitant.
[close]

Just an update, still haven’t gotten anything.

Sorry to hear, at least they don't charge your card until after they ship (at least in my experience).

I'm in the same boat right now, put in a sizeable order on 1/18, still haven't received a charge or a shipping notice. I called a few times. Some guy named Mike picked up and gave me the same "don't know what's up with that order, but it'll ship soon" answer. Called again this morning, and received no answer. I'm really about to call it quits on this company.

To anyone out there that knows of a place to get wholesale prices on uncut decks, please let me know.

I just ordered this shuvit skateboards blank 8.25 with 14.25 wheelbase from skatewarehouse. Looks like they do assorted stains which is cool but its some random distro called select. Anyone tried em before? Kinda wish they were shorter wheelbases but 14.25 is not bad.

If anyones skated minilogo blanks id also be interested in hearing about em.

Select is was left of Vision. They’ve got a few other rando brandos under their brolly as well, including: Hosoi Sk8s, Schmitt Stix, Willy’s Workshop, what remains of Elephant Brand (former Vallely project, chronologically between By The Sword and Street Plant.) wood may well be low end PS Stix, considering the connection. They’re the hook up for Tracker trucks as well if you’re sniffing around for some ancient aluminum.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

Weird question, but did it have the row of half a dozen or so pin dots down it around the front truck hole area?

All the Shuvit blanks used to have that back when someone brought a container of them over here, looked like this:

Nah, it was like a regular board. That sounds strange though.
