Opiates have always been a problem in skateboarding.

Just think about how many notable figures we've lost - or almost lost - over the past few years alone who are rumored to be opiate related. I don't think it's widely publicized, but skateboarding's pain pill problem (or, at least, people within skateboarding's personal pain pill problems) is getting harder and harder to hide.

the shit is rampant. Most of the people I grew up skating with have/had issues with opioids, either heroin or synthetics. Most of them are dead. I can't imagine it's all that different with the pro circuit either, especially dudes who are 30+. 15 years ago pain meds were everywhere on the street and cheap. Honestly, I remember thinking that they were so cheap and abundant that they couldn't be "that bad." Yeah right.
