Not at all. To be honest, I haven't fully fleshed out this idea, but I am driving at is that these organizations are bringing the values of NGOs to skateboarding, and I don't subscribe to those values, at least the predominantly neoliberal nature of them. I don't want any kind of government oversight into skating until such a time as we are no longer dominated by an economic order of exploitation.

Not at all. I don't know I went to skate camps in 2008-2009 and we just toured the skateparks in the south of France, swam in lakes and ate bbq for a week. Great people and precious memories man

Current me realizes that skateboarding is a hobby, not a lifestyle.

If you just skate a park every once in a while then yeah it’s a hobby. If you still skate the streets and have a solid crew it’s for sure a lifestyle. Chill at a homies place, Skate a park to warm up, hit the streets, film some shit, hit up a bar to end the day. Perfect Sunday. Skating in a city with your crew on a Friday or Saturday night in summer is the funnest shit ever, bombing hills, skating through crowds of stupid club goers and pissing them off. Lifestyle.

This is what I have been driving at here for a few days. It's not bad or good that skating is now for normal, well-adjusted people, but it's sufficiently different that I find it unrecognizable and I don't like it.
