I don't know the dude personally, but I don't really understand what is pretentious about him. He's hardly the only skater to also care about things like fashion, art and photography. Whenever I see or read an interview, he seems like a very normal guy.

This reaction is exactly why I appreciate Suciu is who he is. There’s actually real world hobbies out there people engage in and tons of people I know have accounts to share shit I see as “meh”- books, fishing lures, homebrewing, ceramics, art, etc.

Suciu also seems to be equal part skate nerd with an encyclopedic knowledge of global skatespots and exactly what’s been done on them which to me is as skate nerd as you can get. Definitely not “let’s find a ditch or hill and do the same hellride tricks over and over”.

The constant trick name arguments here are exhausting and pointless.  Nobody’s ever right or wrong.  There is no skateboarding rule book, no official glossary.  You can twist words around, talk about angles, etc etc.  Nollie cab lip, nollie 270 front board, whatever, it’s all the same shit, and if you have a vicious unbending opinion that it can only be called one thing, you’re taking it way too seriously.
