anyone know dimensions of hockey's 9" wide decks?
their website lists them at 32.62 length and 14.70 wheel base but almost every other site has their length at 33.25 and the wheel base at 15.
I know there's a few different ways to measure length which can result in differences but i'm especially wondering which wheel base is correct
I have an older one that is the same as the orange eagle, or very close to it, so 9 x 33.25 with 15" wb, so that was the only shape in 9" wide for a while, as far as I know.
As per a number of brands going for a shorter board in the last year or so, like Black Label, their new 9 x 32.6 with 14.6 or something wheelbase could be similar, as is the BBS / Generator shop board of almost those same dimensions too, so I could see FA / Hockey also changing things and going for a shorter wide board shape like that as well.
Shops with old stock might still be the 9 x 33 but newer boards as per their current stock on their own site could be the new shorter shape.
That is my guess.
Thanks. Yeah I got one of those 9" shorter wheelbase generator boards in my last order. What about the concave? Was the hockey noticeable steeper than the orange eagle or the BBS boards you've had?
No, same shape, concave and everything, so the normal press / mold used for the bigger board, which was different, when compared to the smaller boards in the S1 shapes, which are done on the steeper press / mold specifically for FA / Hockey boards, as per the post at the top of this current page.
I also got an 8.75 at the same time, which was another one of the BBS / Generator normal shapes too, not a short, stubby, steep concave type boards they are used to.
Thinking before they changed or started doing their own boards right up the whole size range, they only really had their own shapes up to about 8.5 or so, then used generic shapes, for the bigger boards, maybe they still do given BBS / Generator now seem to have shorter options in many sizes.
