just sharing this sub 14wb I came across

Width: 8.5".
Length: 31.5".
Wheelbase: 13.75".

Soo good and fun. The shape name is even killer “jet ski” had 2 in a row trying the dbx eagle 8.5x31.8x14.2 currently but this had been my favorite board lately

I wish they ran the 8.75 x 14.25wb mis-registered eagle every drop. It would be dope if they had an eagle and a classic Real oval graphic in that size all the time. I think the current one I found is a Doobie graphic.

It bothers me a lil that the blue eagles actually measure 8.38. Love that shape tho.

Anyways. I haven't skated a baker 8.475(b16?) in quite a while, and was wondering if it actually measured true to size

Or if anyone can lay a blue eagle on top of a b16 and tell me if the b16's wider

I know these are pretty normal shapes, ~8.5, 14.25wb, but I figured y'all would know.

Thank. Local didn't have a b16 and I'm on like my bajillionth blue eagle, but this time with 60mm wheels and I wanna try the baker if it has a lil extra width. I already love the baker 8.25's and have skated many

I think they have had the shorter 8.75 in almost every season, if not every other drop of stock (which was called Mis registered eagle for a while) but there are a few options now, at least each of the AH and Real bringing out slightly different shapes.  That current series graphic is pretty out there though!

All three of these are the shorter versions too:

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Re blue eagle vs Baker shape - funny you asked as someone else did as well, info from the current page on the DLX shapes thread - my reply with the same question for you:

https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=85076.msg4387345#msg4387345

Is the Baker 8.475 the same as the 8.5 Eagle by any chance? They look very close but not sure if they’re from a different mould.
If I recall, similar wb and length but baker kicks felt flatter and kicks are wayyyy more tapered almost pointy.

They are very comparable, but there are differences.

I should dig out the one I have to compare, but I think the Baker 8.475 is wider, or at least doesn't taper as much as the blue eagle, but the Baker is also more pointy (as said) especially in the nose.

(EDIT:  I put them both back to back and checked pretty much every aspect of the two, which as I had already said, is accurate from the last time I had measured and checked them for a similar question.  Sure they are two different boards but they are at most a mm different here or there, the Baker being steeper than my IV press blue eagle.)

The blue eagle barely makes 8.5 at the widest point but tapers down to almost 8.25 at the tail, which a number of people really like, but it makes it the smallest feeling 8.5 board in almost any stock sheet full of other 8.5 boards that are actually 8.5 wide.

The Baker 8.475 did seem like it was 8.5 compared to a few others, but it is about half a mm in reality, so very much almost an 8.5 only in a shorter shape.

Speaking of shape, these listings have a good top pic - both from SW for reference anyway:

Dude thanks a bunch for the info!!

Definitely looks like the baker is wider over the back truck whereas the eagle tapers in more. The tails look almost exactly the same. And the nose on the baker is pointier. That's about it I think

One of my favorite boards was this macaroni and cheese ass orange baker with the classic stencil logo, I think it was that shape. I also had a Flip deck that I think was that shape too, 25 years ago. The "og mellow" 8.25's I skate now remind me of it. I've prolly skated more Antiheros than any other brand tho

Anybody know how the width of the hangers of AF1 60's vs. Indy 159's plays out? The aces would lower the pop angle a little, and if the wheels are slightly more tucked that would just be the icing on the cake

I wish there were staple/regularly available real, ah, and baker decks in the classic logos and shorter wheelbases. If they made like, 8.5's of all of those those with 14" wheelbases I don't think I'd ever buy another deck. I shoulda stocked up on misregistered eagles

I need to just start building a stack and not being an idealist about the graphic 😆 like a normal, not-crazy person

Realizing that I really like a shorter WB. Got a Hockey board and realized it's kinda it for me. Am looking for an 8.5 for my bigger setup with a WB around 14". Great recs above but can't really find anything in stock near me. My question is, is there anything other than Hockey/FA that makes 8.5s regularly with a shorter WB, and steeper concave? The simplest answer is just keep getting FA/Hockey boards, but curious if there's anything else that's made at least somewhat regularly I could target. Thanks.

Baker makes an 8.475" wide board with a 14.25WB that comes in their steeper OG Concave shape.

Also, Creature Stumps decks are 8.5 - 9" with a 14.25" WB that's also pretty steep.

Are you in USA, or more the question - are they the BBS boards or the DLX China made boards that you have?

Curious especially if they do feel wider, or are wider, I should say.

I just often see anything under 32 and think it is a little short, (because I am tall / lanky legged) or the board would end up with shorter kicks, or feel too cramped, but I know some other people are really down for that shape and feel of the board.

It is not one I can see in person though, but I guess there would be some around here, only the China made version though.

14 is perfect, all the way up to 10 inches wide.  I’ve seen a lot of comments recently saying wheelbase needs to scale with width, but they are wrong

I know this is a wheelbase thread but do you guys pay any attention the overall length of the board itself?

I look at the nose and tail length and wheelbase. Besides the wheelbase I just make sure the tail isn’t tiny, longer the better.  A really short nose would throw me off mentally though
