guy mariano was super close to ss3f at the van owen bump in 96. koston did it regular in his menikmati part 4 years later and it was still slo-mo worthy, which illustrates how fucked guy's make would have been.

there's a bunch of penny ones. one i would've loved to see was 3fns on vert. there's some mid 90s footage of him getting pretty close.

I think I remember hearing someone on the nine club say a fs flip was stuck down Davis gap. I wanna say it was either tommy gunz or Ryan decenzo who tried it.

Didn't Tommy Sandoval try it in one of those ETN live session things?

Nyjah bs flip El Toro is one, he got pretty close. Wenning nearly switch heeled Love the same day he switch 180d it.

I saw an interview with Gino Iannucci where he said he didn't count his backside heel down the Gonz gap because he was losing balance on the landing and stepped off.

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

Rick Howard front shuv down the Gonz gap in Questionable.
Heath Kirchart front lip down that steep rail in the Sight Unseen end credits.

Elissas nollie in that line was really sick, aways liked clips when the tail breaks but still cruise it out. and the one in the line she went way further to the left, beagles little trv and babydeathlens made that shit look beast.  and who did ryan thomas skate for? seems like he was just an og PD homie, courthouse line was sick

Heath's lip was the first thing I thought of. Watching it on that beagle tape filled me with anxiety. Must've been heavy to be there. The amount of times he stomped it and the beatings he took equals a make in my book.

i can't provide a source, just jumbled misremembered hearsay, but it's more one of those where you could count it or not depending on how harsh/generous you are. i heard he landed a little sketchy, rolled down the bank but then lost control trying to make the switch fs carve as he came up the other side (which given he goes with quite tight trucks, probably would've needed to be a pivot). guess it depends whether you see that as part of landing the trick, or a separate thing.

2nd vote would be for PJ. sometimes it is a fine command of the english language to say nothing and he extended that to skating. PJ's plan B part is the emperor's new clothes.

Jerry Hsu is the king of this for me (unfortunately). Cant find the clips now but In some bside from Emerica he does the single best looking nollie backside flip I’ve ever seen down a massive six block (the one Reynolds half cab flips) and stomps it a few times. In another one he almost lands an amazing sw hardflip over a huge handrail but ends up nutting himself on the rail in the most unfortunate way. Those would have been two of my all time favourite tricks.

No, it was that double set that all the World/Girl heads used to skate in the early/mid nineties. Jeremy Wray fakie heeled it, etc

I’ve always wondered how close Penny got to the front blunt. Like was he actually sliding to end or just kind of fucking around near the top? Bananas nonetheless...

I would have loved to see Dustin Dollin get that kick flip into the car wash.

Pops sw flip love

Dills backside flip in France that I think Lucien Clark and AO both did later

Didn’t Koston try to tre-flip back lip a handrail on Epicly Later’d, am I making that up?

Does Sheckler’s bs flip el toro count? How close was that?

Add Noseslide the Convention Center ledge he 50-50ed

JT also almost had that double set in the End Montage of Misled Youth.   Leap of Faith shockingly not mentioned yet.

Cab on that crazy rail in Tilt Mode

Arto sw backside flip Sorry! Is number one for me bc I remember being super underwhelmed on just a switch flip at the time bc Barley had already switch hardflipped it.

Look at Muckmouth’s comments.  SvsL is doing an article on this trick this year.  Nothing indicates it wasn’t a make, just ridiculously not filmed

Walker Ryan sw bs flip at love.

He did make that, it was his ender in Sabo 4.

Also, his attempts were equally impressive. Jumping down the love gap, missing the flip and just landing on his feet like it's nothing.

Might have been the last, sickest thing done there. I'd definitely rate it above TJ's varial flip.

My favorite part about this is what he said on the bunt, that he basically felt like he had to film a part because he got the trick and didn’t want it just thrown in a random montage.
