I’ll second the jorts recommendation. I also like Passport Workers shorts and Patagonia Baggies.

Nike ACG shorts are nice if you can find em on sale. +1 for Patagonia Baggies as well. Jorts are fine too.

You’ll prolly never see um but all my shorts are made by Woolrich. My local department store has had an account with them for 40 years. If you see them try them on. I have always sworn by Woolrich. So comfortable and cut baggy. Last long too. I got 3 pair on ice. I buy 5 at a time and kill um skateboarding.

I have a pair of vintage Levis 550 shorts and Levis Silvertab shorts. If you're into the jorts, I would highly recommend either of them. Silvertab jorts can still be found on eBay for $30-40, which is impossible for their jeans.

i like the stuff at rei. it's hot here and they have really light fabrics and a lot of the shorts are ATV with hidden draw strings so you can take them swimming too.

whatever fabric these are made out of is the stuff i really like.

it's like wearing workout shorts but looks like normal shorts.

I usually get the Volcom modern shorts then have them hemmed to be more above the knee than they are.

All the dads at my kid’s baseball games wear shorts and dad shoes; I’m out there like a psychopath in pants and vans. I feel like I need to get some shorts, but not some Union bay cargos like the dads.

I’ll second these. I bought them to wear at work, but skate in them too. I’m currently wearing a pair of Prana’s that I got at REI. They’re pretty pricey, but they stretch and are abrasion resistant

I seldom Skate in shorts, but when I do, it’s either Ecko cargo shorts or jorts. The latter protects my knees really well.
that would be crazy if your skin was made of hammers.

Semi off topic. Looking for something like the bans av corvina shorts. Kinda faux cut offs.
I think they stopped making them and seem to only have one color.

Any hook ups on discount? 50$ is a little steep.

Volcom Hybrid shorts.
Second this. Got the O’Neill version and it’s like skating in a swim suit but has elastane flex too. Only downside is mine are almost the exact fit and grey color as Beavis shorts from beavis and butthead!

those prana's look sick. thats definitely the kind of fabric i've gotten pretty heavily into and i like really basic shorts. i like the idea of abrasion resistant because they are kind of pricey and i always thought the patagonia ones would wear out first ass slide but i've had them like 3 years now and there is only one little hole in one that is so small it doesn't matter.

These do not feel like typical dickies, most comfortable shorts ever. Shalom

These are actually some good athletic shorts and I mostly use them for disc golf. They work for skating too. Tillys had them for like $20.

My go to skate shorts are the '67 Dickies shorts that have the classic Dickies feel with a button fly https://www.dickies.com/shorts/dickies-67-11-slim-flex-twill-work-shorts/WR894.html?dwvar_WR894_color=DS#sz=24&start=1

Damn that's a great price! I can't do the '67's I'm heavier and need a relaxed/loose fit. But yeah these ones even being regular fit are pretty loose and comfy although I did order a waist size up and use a belt. They feel amazing I now have like 7 pairs all navy/black only cause I love darker colors. Shalom

I got these shorts

https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men-u-easy-wide-fit-shorts-437304.html?dwvar_437304_color=COL57#start=1&cgid=men-uniqlo-u

and these

https://www.nike.com/t/flex-stride-mens-7-2-in-1-running-shorts-pnwp4c/CJ5471-010

I was only going to wear nikes to the gym but I saw a Swedish guy skating in similar shorts and now I've become an athletic short wearing skater. thinking of getting doileys tattooed to my buns next

gonna need those nike shorts, the compression short built in is genius for skating.

people tend to not look me in my eyes whenever i skate shorts
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Unless you're freeballing....don't you think shorts, ginch, compression defeats the point of wearing shorts?

Rip Curl (and a few other surf companies) make "boardwalk shorts". They feel like boardshorts; I find them super comfortable to skate in. Quick-dry for those hot, sticky ass summers, here in the southeast.

Yo those cookman shorts look kinda interesting. How do they fit? Jorts are a good trend imo, might try to cop some Levi's/Walmart jorts.

Frog swim shorts my go to. Cheap Russel or Champion mesh shorts cool. Nike SB gym shorts good, the thick double layered ones. As FA adidas shorts or straight FA but they’ve been cutting their mesh shorts way baggier. As for jorts, they feel good but rub the back of leg or catch my knee funny.

I just skate in the cheap Champion mesh shorts if I have to skate in shorts, they’re super comfy and if they get fucked up, they’re cheap.

I do generic gym shorts mostly. But I’m rocking with these all summer. 6$ from Walmart super thin. Super light. Basically underwear. Great for the heat.

I got enough to make it through, but we’re in a bit of a heatwave here - nothing like the west coast- and all the shorts are GONE, and the back to school shit is coming out, so I’m guessing there will be no restocking.
