Yeah T2 is not a good name. There's almost as many 'stages' of Thunder as there are Indy.

Stages are Indys thang, no point is using that (I know you weren't suggesting it).

ACE spun off to AF1 and used classic; I'd imagine DLX would pick a new branding/word depending on what they're doing. Is it new geo? Or did they dig around and bring back some 'classic' thunder geo (based off indy style).

Keep Thunder for the current rev and "Thunder <new word>

Hell label them as OG Thunders (spit OG classics style) if they are revising old geo.

I guess it really depends on if the push is really that big. Are these to be the new hotness, where we're all supposed to focus on them, leaving the diehards with the current model(s)?

For sure. I keep saying this but I really think Thunder should play off their heritage with this new design.... especially if its a turnier, higher truck that might appeal to some bowl trolls.

I dunno man…as much as you say that….T2 sounds awfully on brand and futuristic……

If there was ever brand that skaters supported just because they like the trucks….its thunder….

I agree but I never understood why Thunder doesn't celebrate its history a bit more like some other brands...

Commendable, that Jim T mostly wants to look forward, I suppose.

Has T2 been confirmed as the actual release name of these trucks?

I was under the impression it was just a name being used for development.

The original Venture Awake campaign kinda reminds me of some of the earlier AWS media so it hits a bit differently. I'd wear a Venture Awake shirt before a Know Control shirt, but I'm also a grownup and don't buy truck brand shirts

I just want them to re release the old 149er like Indy released the stage 4

The early/mid 2000 thunder 149er were basically a thunder version of mini logo 8.38 trucks

Low, wide, lots of control

My dumbass traded them and then I realized how good they really were after switching around

These

If you look the hangar isn’t smooth and contoured like the current gen of thunders the pivot stem is very simple and defined but gave it a very good feeling of control for quick response and turns

Edit: I think this is when they were still measured at 8.25/8.38 so not a true 149/8.5 but that made them lighter  ;)

Got a preview of the new IKP trucks in person. The baseplate has more rounded corners on it, but looks the same thickness.

KP clearance is pretty next level if you're chasing that. Top washers visually different from other current stock, hopefully means less bushing carnage.

Those old 49mm thunders were the shit. Rode them forever, bones mediums, V3s, 149s on 8.3s.

I had a good time on those also but they didn't turn well and were pretty damn low. Not as good for transition as the current Thunders but would be great on a small wheeled 90s football shape...

I totally had to do a double take right then, as someone brought in a board that was so close to that, with those trucks on the other day, with the new Spitfire Lil Beatdowns 43 mm wheels and an original "Napping Negro" deck.

The thing was strictly to look at only, but it was amazing to see.

* Added the second pic to show the height (and the small wheels / super flat deck)

Maybe the best view I’ve seen of the “T2” so far.  Interesting baseplate design.  Seems longer for slides however the pivot cup area is rounded and pinched before going into the kingpin area.  Might be for strength, kind of a throwback look.  Looks really cool.

Deluxe if you’re reading this I’m a huge Thunder fan and would test these.

Is that sort of a 'cap' or 'cover' on the pivot area? Looks layered....like a pivot lapper :P

They look interesting, hopefully once I'm done with my new set those will be available. I guess we don't have any Intel of an eventual release date.

Bought some regular cast 148s the other day. (Raws, do not say team on baseplate, clear orange bushings)

Was feeling too sluggish on the 144 Indy hand-me-downs I’ve been riding.

Holy shit these were squirrelly out of the box! I had to crank down the nut until two threads were showing to get where my Indys and Ventures are with a flush nut.

Stoked on the low effort tail snap, feels like I may even get flip tricks back although I wasn’t getting much pop. Probably a bad pairing with the Real Full deck I’m riding…
