He is also starting a skate shop on November 1st
[close]

Really? That feels like a weird move, considering Streetlab being the main shop in Malmd having supoorted him for years..
[close]

What makes it even more confusing, Streetlab will stock Lurpiv, so he’s still gonna profit off them?
[close]

why's that weird? pros start their own shops all the time.

It’s weird because he is creating competition with the skate shop that helped him become what he is today

Well Malm a small city - and Fredrik and Streetlab has been the core shop there forever and helped a lot of people out- Oski being one of them.  This feels quite disloyal to me.

He's stocking his new product in their shop so obviously it's not like he's trying to get one over on them and they're going to stock his product so obviously they're not completely hurt by it

Just what the world needs, another outdated Indy truck. If only the hangers rolled and they had plastic base plates.

So here's my predictions.

There must be a reason for making a truck in Sweden. Maybe some new technology on how to make them.

To compete at a reasonable price. Probably online sales world wide on webpage.

Oski shop? Oski park opens up again more likely.
I'd rather watch Bill Danforth push...

A steel manufacturer was bleeding after Covid, someone there who i think, that skates, suggested making trucks.

Don’t know who designed them and such but I can imagine who.

Did Oski make a shit load of money from the Olympics or something? If so, opening a truck company and a shop is a rad way to spend it. Most other pros would probably buy a Ferrari or a boatload of coke.

They’re still around in a way. Yubatuckey (yuba city) has a copy of them that’s made to the same specs according to Wormhoudt. Only skated the real one once in the late 80s. So how accurate that statement is I can’t really say. Both are fun though.

I DM'd Oski asking when they would be available stateside and he said if I sent €600, he could turn it into €4700 for me.

Submitted a preorder. Not normally one to preorder/ be the first to get products, like to let the issues with new releases get ironed out first. But who knows. Maybe being the first person at my park with these trucks will force the youths to actually talk to me!

Info on site for the 149 if anyone’s interested. They are lighter than Indy standards if 354g. I’m super curious about how they change WB and what the “two-axle system “ is.

The Lurpiv 1 is developed by Oskar Rozenberg. The truck has a solid aluminium body by casting with aerospace technology through Rheocasting. A new two-axle system, developed to ensure better grinds, durability and minimal weight. All components are of H7 grade to give the best handling performance.

SIZE: 149mm
139mm

Specifications:

Axle width: 8,465” (215mm)
Hanger width:5,866” (149mm)
Truck height: 2,165” (55mm) as delivered
Fits boards: 8.25” – 8.75”
Weight: 12,4 Oz, (354gram)
Aerospace Rheocasting AlSi7 T7 heat-treated solid body design
Reversed kingpin ensuring the lowest profile possible
42CrMoS4 steel alloy axles and kingpin with h7 tolerance for maximum fitting
Special design pivot bushing for sharper response
Top and bottom bushings adapted for maximum stability and turning performance

If they are between 52mm and 54mm high, I would try them. Oski is rad.

These look rad to me.
Will defs be picking up a set at some point, though $102 shipped prolly means I'll wait until they land at my local before grabbing a pair.
@mattdlx do you anticipate getting these in at the shop at any point in the fewture?

As an aside: Funny that Oski ay have just created (intentionally, or otherwise) the world's first "luxury" truck brand.

Is it to late to get in on this amazing deal?

These trucks have grown on me a little, but still look weird. Guess I’m just not used to such a skinny hanger. I think they look better not setup than on a board.

I’m always down to see domestic manufacturing though. I wonder how much these will cost being made in Sweden.

Hopefully two axle system doesn't mean the axle is in two small pieces and just inserted at both ends of the hanger. This is how some cheap companies made trucks in the early 00s and they always bent. I kinda doubt any new company would do this tho

Some precision longboard trucks that go for a lot of money do this, and so does Ilife truck co. Tech might have gotten better since the early 00's

Yeah hopefully.
Noticed in pics there's no exposed axle behind the kingpin nut which was the sign of two bit axle trucks back then. Altho maybe I'm misremembering but I think grind king actually had a truck with a weird boomerang looking axle that was round on the ends and flat with holes in the middle. The lurpivs could be something like that

Saw this on the gram. Not sure how the pouring process is on trucks I assumed the hanger is poured around the axle. Maybe someone can confirm deny but if that’s the case judging by this photo where there’s hangars no axle. It may be 2 pieces and then some how drilled and press fit or something I’m not sure. Would love to see a video of the manufacturing process to see how they are doing the axle. Or shit if someone from lurpiv came on slap to field some questions like quantum did and some deluxe dudes and fos
And James craig with sml
