I have some friends in the industry who have shared some stuff, not really obscure or dark but one comes to mind. Years before he came out, I knew BA was gay. Well, they told me about it but I didn't believe them 100%. I was a little shocked  but equally sad, that if it was true, he had to live his life in secret. There's about two more that I was told about, that I think they will come out in due time. I just hope that these two other individuals aren't hurting and come out when they are ready.

Another one was about Joey Poiriez. His grandma lived in my area and we'd see him at our local park from time to time. I was just about a year or two younger than him but had heard about his drug usage. I was pretty naive back then and didn't put two and two together. Some years later, word got around that he had died, except he hadn't. Then some years passed and I heard the same news, except this time he really did overdose.

That situation is so depressing, and went on way too long. I remember walking into my local shop and hearing one of the EMB guys talking about her and how she had the clap. He said she was 16, and it was a couple years after the H-Street tour that Carroll talks about, so she was maybe 14 or so at that time. There's a brief shot of her in some of the Jake Rosenberg footage he uploaded to youtube years ago. She's just a kid. I don't think it was just scumbags and EMB kids who took a roll in the hay with her, either. Huf mentions her in the FTC book, but doesn't divulge.

Someone got shot and killed outside OneUp Skate Shop over the weekend. There was some sort of fight outside the shop and a 29 year old was shot in the chest. They had some sort of fingerboarder meetup earlier in the night, but usually that kind of stuff clears out by 1030 which is when this happened. The shop was closed but there's a bunch of kids that hang out there and skate the 3 ramps and a box that comprises their skate park afterwards.

Cops are investigating, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of the shop rats is involved. There's a bunch of wannabe thug trap dj gun flashing types that hang out there and the owner seems to think its just the coolest thing ever.

They've been disruptive to non-skaters for a long time and now they've moved it off Carson St and into a residential neighborhood. There is no defending this shit.

I'm not saying everyone who hangs out or works there sucks. I've had some good long talks with kids who work there and for the most part they're pretty chill (if Drew and his girl are still around they're rad). I'm also not saying everything they do is bad. What I am saying is they're absolutely fostering a culture, intentionally or not, where things like this happen and will continue to happen. It's really kind of sad to see something that should be used to keep kids out of trouble introducing them to it.

Anyone know which Rosenberg YouTube video. I have been facinated with the HH story and the fact it was openly spoken about and some dudes seemed proud of it

I was talking recently with someone who knows more about it than your average gossip on SLAP and he said there were actually two HH's. The one on the H-Street tour and then one later who hung around the EMB guys. So, perhaps the first one wasn't quite as young as 14 but she was underage and the whole thing is still really fucking awful. I don't remember which Rosenberg video it is, but there's one with the second HH kind of diving out of camera shot, and then there's another one with footage of another girl who was at Embarco pretty regularly getting harassed and walking around trying to figure out which asshole threw urine on her. Fun times!
