From what I recall, Lay was on eS around the time Kelly became the manager. Kelly wanted to revamp eS with more of a sporty, athletic feel and didn't think Lay fit the bill, and so Lay was kicked off.

They seem like they’ve shifted to acquiring Aurelian and Andy Anderson - social media skaters.   Could def have been a case of his contract running out.   Don’t think he ever had a pro model though

I think Etnies stopped doing pro models for a while. Marana instead of Sheckler model etc.

LRAB is about to drop cupsoles and new insoles, I’ll put money on them offering a vegan option. NB# 420 would fit the bill nicely too and would suit his style imho

Also: controversial opinion but I think every pro needs at least 1 non cool sponsor that provides a bank roll to make it as a pro.

It's pretty obvious that Ryan doesn't care about his shoe sponsor providing him with vegan shoes or not.  Vans does make several vegan options (both in the skate line and across the other classics and surf lines) and the dude doesn't skate them.

“shoe sponsor” is a big call, I’m guessing flow bro at best… what vegan model do they currently have in their skate line other than one color way of Lizzie’s shoe? It’s clear vans doesn’t give a single shit about that demographic anymore.

I’m guessing he does care (or at the very least *did* care at some point) because of his Etnies shoe and my other wild guess is that he currently won’t wear anything soletech because of bad blood.

Last time I talked to him, he said he was having a “shoe crisis”. Either way, pretty sure vans won’t ever put him on officially… so he’s ripe for the picking/ swooping

Indeed the Spring 2022 lineup is lacking, but over the past couple years they’ve had lots of options that I’ve never seen him in, particularly the AA Authentic High (especially seeing as Ryan seems to favor mid/hi shoes).  There were also a couple colorways of cupsoles by that BMX guy that were synthetic, and also the entire Eco-theory line that has the removable insoles (come in Old Skool, authentic and Sk8-hi versions).  Just saying he had options. Even I’ve bought pretty much all those mentioned above and I’m not flow.

The obvious answer is: you’re not allowed to be concerned about a certain issue unless you are concerned about ALL issues, there is no middle ground: it’s 0 or 100 baby!
That’s why I can’t be bothered with women’s rights tbh, I mean there are children starving in Africa so unless that problem is fixed, my compassion for women at large will remain at -3! I’m sorry but that’s just how logical people think…
