RIP.

Seems like an all around great guy. Passed way to young, but it does seem like he lived life to the fullest and accomplished so much, which is a silver lining I guess.

As much as a car stunt jockey as he was he didn't seem to foolhardy, on a few of his different shows he talked about how that Hoonicorn car was dangerous and scared him after they put the turbos on it, and that he had been fine with it the way it was before.

He's gotta be one of the only people in history that founded a company completely as a business person and then later became a premier athlete on the company. I think there's an interview where he said he wasn't as much on the business side cuz he was more valuable as an athlete to DC now.

He somehow had the FACE of what someone who runs DC would probably look like. The facial hair and everything. He nailed it. Rest in Peace, man.

As cornball as DC has been at times, nobody can deny the impact that Ken had on skateboarding culture and within the industry. RIP Ken, I hope they have DC Courts in the afterlife.

"i don't carry a gun, i drive. for 5 minutes, i'm yours. either side of that and you're on your own."
that was impressive and also that he got SF to shut down to facilitate it. spose the Covid sanctions helped.
This was filmed years before the pandy.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

I can't overstate how much I don't care about intricacies of cars past the basics (i just want my car to be comfortable and big enough for my fairly tall self), nor about racing (bit of F1 here and there), but this was seriously impressive.

Plus, he's chillin-chillin in that cockpit. I'm feeling queasy doing 80mph on an almost empty freeway in a straight line, while this dude is chuckling to himself, drifting in front of a tram, going 120mph.

Anyway, he had huge (and positive) influence on skate culture through Droors/DC and seemed like a pretty cool dude for someone doing such jockish activity as those gymkhanas. Rest easy.

There is a part where he is driving up a windy street which is on Vermont St. They have an annual Bring Your Own Big Wheel event there. That thing is tight and just to think Ken Block drifted those things takes some sort of skill that I definitely don't have.

I was in the right place at the right time and worked for Circus Distribution in their salad days. Droors, Dub, and DC all in one building. It was very cool. Ken was great, super focused and driven. To see what they built in real time was motivating. What a life he lived.

Steve Van Doren, Phil Knight, or Don Brown would NEVER shell out $1M to a city to legalize skating.
Whether it was charity or publicity, Ken Block & DC Shoes fought for the skaters. RIP

RIP, Block's impact on skating is pretty major and I hope that sometime soon there is a documentary or an article or something that really gives the historical perspective it deserves

that said, i'm kinda baffled about the whole turn toward motorsports. maybe i need to listen to the bomb hole interview posted above or something. my first reaction when i heard this news was like "of course the dude who sends turbocharged motorized thousand-pound objects hurtling through the air died in a snowmobile accident"
