Oh boy, now you’re speaking my language. I’ve been an avid thrifter my entire life, the Sally Ann was my happy place, my hometown had a chain of its own used clothing stores, that shit is in my blood. All that has changed since Covid.
In addition to most places axing their fitting rooms and not offering refunds, only exchanges, which is morally fucking despicable imo.. VV and Sally Ann have raised their prices an astronomical amount and their selection is now literal garbage. The cheaper local spots are so picked through it’s not even worth going. Pandemic-related corporate greed, inflation, supply chain issues, and resellers have ruined the entire experience.
I’m extremely fortunate that I’ve since discovered a local “auction” Facebook page, where you can bid on and win clothes/shoes for a fraction of what you’d pay at thrift stores. I’ve gotten so much good shit for so cheap. I’m sure that’ll get blown out eventually too but hopefully not.
