He was also in Fluf, a pretty sick band. What a loss.

I was listening to KEXP on Monday, and the DJ was talking about O. They were old friends. He told a story about a time when Rocket From The Crypt came to town, and O was with them, and they were staying at the DJ's house. He had recently come out of the closet, but didn't really know anything about being gay - hadn't been to any bars or nightclubs, didn't really know any other gay guys. O was excited and supportive of his awkward, recently-gay friend, and O insisted that they all go to a gay country western bar and dance all night.

So before he knew other gay men, before he had friends to show him the ropes, there was O and the members of RFTC, making him step outside of his shell and being there to support him. He was all chocked up. It was a very sweet story.

Damn thats awesome. Pretty sure that bar was called “Brass Connections” and closed down a couple years before I moved to Capitol Hill.

Saw Dinosaur Jr. last night and J Mascis gave O a shoutout towards the end of their set. It was awesome
