lol that is rainbow edition

had to google what that was...this is something different

Guile's Invisible Throw is a glitch found in early arcade versions of Street Fighter II. If done properly, this glitch allows Guile to throw the foe without even touching them. In some cases, this is considered a "cheat."

I got up to 1519 MR with Ryu like two weeks ago and was steadily in the 1400s after that. But the last few days I've been playing like absolute shit and got knocked back down to the low 1300s. It's really frustrating when this happens and it seems like I forgot what I had just learned. Some of it is from me just being tired and sore, but I don't know what the real cause is except maybe I'm tilting out of annoyance and not being patient enough. Oh well. Shit happens.

Anyone else playing lately?

i prefer just doing long sets instead of ranked cause i still have a lot to learn about the game and i dont play it that much either
i been playing ultra and CVS2 mostly lately. CVS2 is wild though some of the shit in that game is so broken, if you seek out the top players its like you arent even playing the same game. And the netcode sucks so bad for ultra. i really wish we could get an updated netcode for that game.

If I dumped a 1000$ worth of quarters in The Street Fighter game , I would not be surprised.

Local Round 1 arcade has some sit down Japanese cabs with multiple games on them. Played Super Street Fighter II Turbo “Ultimate Edition” or something like that. You could choose which iteration of each character, like Hyper Fighting Ryu or Super Sagat.

Made it to Bison with Vega on one credit but he kind of kicked my ass. Maybe I should have been spamming Izuna drop?

Ah I still have my original TE stick too. It came out in 2009 or something crazy like that. I can't believe it. I just recently swapped out the buttons and joystick with some new Sanwas. It was still working fine but I thought it was fair to give it a little upgrade.

I have 3 fight sticks

One of them , the housing that contains the lever keeps coming loose, so I need to find a solution / Loctite the hell out of it (Madcatz Fightstick PRO, ~2014)

I have another stick I think I need to replace the buttons, they are not working. I am sure I have some kicking around somewhere too. Madcatz TES+.  I dont think i would ever buy madcatz again. got that one 2016. I have put insane amount of hours on all these sticks though to be fair. I have replaced the lever on that stick as well.

My oldest stick is Hori VX SA RAP (xbox 360) i have modded it with PS360+ (dont buy this board, its horrible for PS4) but its my only stick thats still functioning. got it 2011.

Oooh, stick talk.

This is my Victrix, with a JLX2 stick and some gamerfinger buttons.

It’s a borderline waste of money that I definitely purchased during the height of my tech industry years where disposable income was abundant. The stick is great, but not the price of a console great. Especially considering I ended up swapping all the parts out anyways.

Anyone interested in learning Alex when he comes out? I’m considering picking up a different grappler with the upcoming patch, ideally they buff Manon with better normals but the rumor is Capcom fears that the slightest upgrade will make her broken.

Alex seems almost like Marduk in Tekken with all his stance based mixups and command grabs. I currently main Zangief, who I like but getting burned out to compensate for wack defensive options gets very frustrating.

Went to the Street Fighter League final tonight at the Kokugikan. It was sick to watch the matches live and players like Daigo, Fuudo, Leshar, Tokido, and Menard. Team Reject destroyed Bandits. That was the first time I've seen a live esports event and I'd definitely do it again bc the crowd gets so hyped and makes for an awesome atmosphere.

At the end of the event the Capcom COO announced that new DriveTech Wear costumes are coming out for all the characters.

that's dope you went to street fighter league final! I want to go to a big event again soon. I Have a funny story actually

Canada CUp 2017 i believe, was at this hotel near the Airport in Toronto. At the front of the building, there is a covered area where you can pull up to check in etc. but there is a small opening just barely big enough for someone to squeeze through to the parking lot. The other side of it, cars fly through there to get to the parking area. One night, i was coming back from getting food, and I almost smoked someone in a Purple Twitch TV hoodie coming out of that opening. And it was none other than The Beast Himself, Daigo Umehara. I said that would have been tragic, and my friend replied "He would have parried the car"

That stick is wild.  I've been very curious how the upcoming Sony stick is going to perform - and how much it is going to cost.

I was looking into purchasing new fight stick and the prices are through the roof now especially if you don't live in USA. Apparently the Mayflash stuff has come a long way though and that is why. They are basically on par with anything we had out from madcatz, qanba, rzr etc. 10-20 years ago

i asked people about current gen from those brands and they said dont bother the build quality / qc is crap, might as well just get the mayflash.

I have 3 I got from 2012-2016 and honestly doing repairs on them is not hard at all unless you have to run new wires. for the most part though the wires should stay fine if you dont throw the damn thing. Replacing the Lever and Buttons and getting a Brooks adapter saved me like $500. I have enough replacement parts to do another lever and buttons too.

I’m currently trying to upgrade an outdated Mayflash I bought a decade ago (it’s got a USB plug and PlayStation 1/2 plug).

I’m buying “clone” parts from AliExpress. So far, I have the stick, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on buttons and the wiring (daisy ground).

Also, I have a couple of Sega Dreamcast arcade sticks (one Japanese and one USA). Surprisingly, the Hori arcade stick for the Wii has been one of the best in my collection and will be next to mod after I finish the Mayflash.
