there was this old white guy from a different state sitting on the box he just got out of jail.

He is sitting on the top ledge of the box and muttering "gook" everytime my friend went to pop a trick.
i told my friend to just stop skating the box already and he doesn't say that when i grind the box so idk. i guess my friend looks way more japanese then me.
a couple hours roll by and he is still sitting there and this other black dude walks into the park he just got out of jail too.
walks up to the old pot dealer and demands some free weed. and how he just got out. old pot dealer is like no i dont know you. no free shit this isn't a charity.
he slaps the old pot dealer. pot dealer gets up starts getting amped and my one of my best friend gets up in his face then our other friend goes to back him up but he was like a grunt lieutenant in the army (retired) homie is face to face with the black dude then all hell breaks loose  and another military homie ends up stopping the white guy. it was maybe 15 vs 2.

whole skate park fight breaks out. the two army guys choking out the two jail dudes. one is out side the park
i hop the fence and field goal kick him in the belly. cracking the dude in the head until my hand hurts.
then some random homeless guy is walking up checking it out. and my other friend hops the fence and side blinds the homeless guy and he's on the ground pretending to be knocked out (slept) we like "yo he wasnt part of it." my friends starts laughing and says "oh well"
then the pot dealer is going through the jail guys bags and breaking all there razors and pershiable snacks and foods bread and peanut butter tossed into the field.

but he grabbed my  mark ecko headphones and stomped those. and i was like "hey those were mines wtf" then after that he just smiled and said "ohmy bad" then continuned to break everything.

after those guys got the shit kicked out of them the white guy was sitting on the box mouth all bloody and says "thanks guys i needed that" we was all pissed off at and said "what? GTFO here. and yelled at him until they both left".

vibe was weird but then i channeled all that energy into ripping and it turned out to get back to normal.

no reprcussions. cops never showed up and if they did we probably told them "too late you missed it"

I have a few more skatepark fight storys left.

Was at the park the other day and this dude comes in tweaking. He is wearing hiking boots and skating a narrow board and small wheels. Pretty harmless to anyone but himself and im the only other person there, so whatever.

A homie comes to skate and after a while says to me “yo you see that dude? He has a knife, no sheath or nothing tucked into his pants.” And low and behold Mr. Meth has a big ol fixed blade dangling from his neck on a piece of rope or p-cord. From like 40 ft away dude had heard us and skates over and says “think i need to put it down? Do you think i need to put this blade down? Is this dangerous? Its better than in my pocket because ive done that before and stabbed myself right in the leg. Right here….” And the younger homie who made the statement kinda juat skates off and Mr. Meth is talking at me still and i say “hey man, you can put it down if you want. Im not gonna take your blade from you, bro. Its dangerous living outside but we gotta be careful here, man.” And the dude keeps rambling and i skate off. Next thing i know the dudes got his shirt off and is skating around with the blade in his hand. Up and down transitions and berms, just holding this hunting knife. If he fell, it was either gonna gut him or someone else. Meth comes back by me and starts talking  again about the knife and seems kind of angry by now. Im trying to stay cool and say “just staying safe, bro. You’re cool man. No worries.” Eventually the dude skates off into the day and a collective sigh goes down.

Not a fight but wasnt sure what was going to happen.

This thread has been a good reminder on why I don’t go to skate parks.

When I was younger someone brought boxing gloves to the park. A bunch of kids took turns boxing in the bottom of the concrete bowl.

I'm amazed no one died. Fighting at the bottom of a concrete pool seems like a really unsafe idea.

I got one. At 16, I was the middle man for a marijuana transaction between a dealer and a mutual friend. The dealer, for some stupid reason, was selling .8 of a gram for $20. He told me this and I was like “uhhhh ok”. I thought it was ridiculous but we’re talking about a bowl’s worth of difference.

The mutual friend gets the weed, then immediately weighs it. He’s furious that’s what he gets. I explain that the dealer made it smaller and the guy loses his mind about the dealer. I sit there and say “ok, just give it back and get a refund”. He calls the dealer and they refuse to do the refund.

Mutual friend tells the dealer to meet at the local skatepark to fight. dDrives from his house with 5 friends. Dealer drives over to the skatepark with like 20 fucking people. Just to be clear - this is all over less than a gram of weed.

They all meet in the park and a brawl breaks out. People are getting punched and kicked in the face. Everyone is losing their mind. Girlfriends, gangsters, literally everyone who was within a 3rd degree of these people on our town shows up for this.

I vividly remember standing at the foot of the bowl, looking down at 3 different fights taking place, and thinking “this is ridiculous”. At a certain point, the dealers friend looks at me and yells, “do you see what you did?? This is all your fault!”. I shrug and just am still in shock this is all over less than a gram of weed.

Cops come, whole thing gets broken up and everyone hates each other. I think I spent two weeks wondering if I caused all of this or not. All these years later I still look back at that day and cringe

damn im glad im not a kid anymore, imagine fighting over $20 worth of (likely gunk) weed

Too bad Doordash wasn’t an known entity at the time. FN could have explained that the missing .2 gram was a service fee.

We used to eyeball everything. No one had scales or cared to measure.

A heigth is missing more like 1-1.5 grams.  90s street hustle in the Height was hectic. Hot knifing 2 inches off the side of baggies so the finger measure still looked okay. Most custies were in BMWs anyways, that’s what we told our consciences. What were those 2 undercovers named there? Gulf and Sanchez?
They came so hard for everyone.

Now I’m sounding like OP, minus the violence. Extremely glad I lived long enough to mature.

saw some dude from LA being too drunk, trying to grab women's asses and asking every rando for alcohol at FDR Rip Ride last year. I guess too many people told him "no" or "you're gross" bc he started swinging on anybody and got the attention of some locals who weren't too keen on his behavior. he got beat up pretty good right in front of the loop and then fell down the piss hill trying to defend himself. pretty sure he dipped before the cops got there, he was beat up and nobody seemed to want his ass there. i thought it was sick two locals in helmets beat him up

I had stopped skating before there were parks around me and now I feel lucky that when someone gets in my face I can deescalate. I see people at the park who talk about fighting (mostly old ex hardcore dudes, ew) and how cool they were “crowd killing” and punching people. Terminal hetero behavior. I was forced to fight to defend myself so I guess I don’t see these things as exciting. Sometimes fights are funny but 90% of the time it’s embarrassing.

When I was 14, vacationing with my family through the Okanagan I was skating in one of the worst parks ever built (Oliver skatepark). This mountain biker kept purposefully snaking me out and talking shit. Eventually, we collided and I just lost it. He was wearing a full-face helmet and I just swung trucks first as hard as I could and cracked it straight down the middle. In hindsight, it was incredibly stupid and even with the helmet I could have seriously hurt this guy over nothing more than poor park etiquette. Even though he was much older than me it was an embarrassingly foolish decision. He was right pissed off after understandably so but didn't really know what to do about it so I just fucked off and tried to find my family and never went back there after. Sorry random MTB kook :(

I feel like when medical marijuana became more ubiquitous and prices varied between strength/strand, people started bringing a scale for every transaction. At least when I was ages 15-18, this was a norm. It was cringey and weird

Yesterday I fought a wasp, she chased me through the park the whole day. Some fucker sprayed coke on to the ledge. Tryed to clean it up with water but this made the wasp angry so she/he? tried to fight me. I'm not a violent human so I tried to run away but she was faster then me.
I couldn't help myself so I punched her to death with my skateboard. I still feel guilty.

No way.  If a wasp is after you, it’s bloodsport.  This is some mindless drone trying to inject you with poison.  They are designed to attack and die.  Get; or be got, my friend.
gonna be *that* guy but wasps don't die when they sting, they do it over and over; ultimate assholes

Average afternoon day, I get off the bus at a busy bus station and threw on my
Headphones. I'm bumping something hype and skate decently fast down a side street. About 2 minutes in with my music blasting something catches my eye behind me. I look back and there is a gang of preps chasing me full blast. They had been chasing me since the bus stop and I didn’t even notice. I skate across the street and stall on a curb and we have a stare down and they all look pretty red faced so I just skate off.
