2023 draws to a close so I will look back fondly at the Emericas I've skated throughout the year. Or last years, it's mostly a blur at this point.
Dicksons, I only recently tried these for the first time. I disliked them the instant I put them on. I forced myself to like them I really did. It turned into animosity so I left them at a skatepark. Though I did take back my shoelaces.
Temples, I thought they were cute in a homely way. It reminded me of older times. Visions of kr3w jeans. The upper was soft and pillowy suede. The vulcanized sole is that clunky one they use. Somewhere on the internet, a review mentioned this as well, they even weighed them because they felt so heavy. I feel like this model came and went without much fanfare. But I did like these.
Tilts, Chunky. They kickflipped nicely. I would have skated these again.
Pillar, Their mid top vulc. These held up for a long time. I appreciated that. Skated well.
Spanky g6, I should have hoarded these. I loved them. Why didn't I buy more of them? I only have one pair left tucked away. And I am not convinced by the new boot version.
Ksl g6, RIP you left us too soon
Laced, unwearable torture device
Slip cup, pleasant surprise if you like skating in slip ons
Gammas, I had the original white leather colorway, loved them, At a later point I had the g6 version and those were alright. I liked this upper with their basic sole more for some reason. I bought the rust colorway the other week and they are unskateable. On one shoe, it's almost as if the upper and sole are misaligned. Big toe feels like it's jutting out of the side of the shoe.
