EmericaTM said (pre-buy out) they'd likely reduce the slip cup drops from line staples to rarer releases of limited colors or if collabs / special releases once a year or so. So yes, definitely stock up (I'm with you on that). Fingers crossed the new owners re-invest on the G6 cupsole, but fingers crossed they at least stick to the occasional drop plan.

Yeah, exactly that. Shoe brands work so far ahead with production that until Fall/Holiday 2025, everything you see comes from the @Emerica TM era of overseeing everything at the brand.

From what I’m understanding is that it’s gunna have a EVA midsole just not the pour in G6 midsole. Hoping it shouldn’t be too much of a change but we’ll see. I’m gunna buy them regardless

there is this shoe from "fishing lines" a michael mackrodt company (french skater) . looks the same as this one from spanky.
I guess thy went for the same thing. I had etnies back in the day that looked similar.

I'm more thinking it looks like that Wes Kramer shoe. But with a stitched toecap and more complicated collar.

Both are SD boys, and Braden's the right age that I bet he was a Wes fan from a young age.

Sounds like it's exactly what Braden wanted, in terms of design, from this interview with the designer at Emerica. Lots of times if a skater gets exactly what they want... it ends up not pushing the style or innovation barometer. But I bet it skates great... I recently skated the Provost on that same vulc chassis, and it was great! Better than other vulc shoes I've skated in the last few years.

It actually had the stitching when it first came out, so it's even more similar


Crazy that it's been 11 years since it came out. I remember some of my friends skated the Wes shoe, telling me the sole was ridiculously thin and the stitching just ripped the second it got in contact with griptape, so hopefully Bradens shoe will be a lot better with the G6 insole and the reverse stitching

Damn who ever called it a Wes was spot on he just pretty much confirmed it on nine club. Said he brought in a bunch of Wes 1s to emerica .

Are you sure about that. On their site it says its an EVA midsole and it doesnt shoe the exposed midsole in the pics.

I'm gonna wager that the photos on instagram are outdated professional promo shots, and the product photos in the online store are of the current product, taken by SPoT.

Edit: althouuugh, looking thru SPoT's instagram it does look like they take a bunch of their own professional-looking shots for ig.  Will wait to hear from MetalAnkles!

Site description still says eva midsole. I'm sure they copy paste those from the brand. Either emerica is very out of the loop providing updated info (which could very well be the case) or they panted the EVA green and showed it in the exposed heel window for the un suspecting customers (which would be kinda hilarious). Or the g6 midsole is truly back (which would be preferred).

The price point being the same as the lows tho makes me think it is EVA.
