Independent 159’s
« on: August 03, 2023, 11:20:11 AM »
There’s a lot of truck sizes and they’re all great for their own purposes

I think Indy 159s are the best truck ever if you want to skate all terrain and ride anything from an 8.5 pop to a 9.5 shape

Who else only rides 159s

My first set of 159s were the first trucks I grinded to axle.

I've rebuilt them 3-4 times cause the hanger and baseplate just won't die.

It's too bad they're a bit shakey to have as my daily driver, cause no other trucks I've rode since then live up to those Indy bois
Do you see another one of these over there?

I agree. 8.75" is the magical axle width.

But its Ace 60s and Thunder 151s for me.

I’m a recent convert to the 159 but I’m so glad I beefed up my truck width

My main ride and 8.25 with 144s...

However, I also have a DLX 8.75 with 159s, and yeah, that things is a bit tank-ish, but it just feels so sweet.

while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Recently put some 159 standards on my Ace classic baseplates so I didn't have to go buy wider trucks and it works perfectly. I'm going to grind these all the way down. Love the extra hanger space without it being too wide. Also, they fit great on an 8.25 I just had to put on some 54mm radials cause all my other wheels stuck out too much.

Ok

i skated 159s a fair amount, even on 8.25.
they are my favorite indy. something about the height to width ratio.

Stuck a pair on my newly setup quasi 9.0 and for some reason the front of the board felt really heavy, hoping it’s got more to do with the deck than the trucks …

my main setup is 8.25 with 149s

but i recently bought some 60mm dragons and put them on a spare setup i have that is a 9 with 159 hollow forged i've had for quite a while. since having those wheels, i've been skating that board a lot more and I will say that I do love how the trucks feel. as somebody else said, "tankish" for sure, but pretty sweet!

This. I am riding a 9 inch board with 63MM Spitfires and 159 Indys. I am not into super tech stuff, so I really enjoy all the sturdiness and room that comes with the bigger setup. The 159s feel solid.
