The only person Jason Ellis would fan out over is Jason Ellis

Was completely avoiding this due to Ellis, but it was a delight to see these two chat.  Hawk is a terrible host, but I could definitely just watch an hour of this a week forever.

Also, Ellis is a comedian?  Yikes.

Gonz episode was awesome. You can tell they genuinely enjoy talking to each other. Would much rather this than Gonz on Nine Club. Also I don't mind Ellis, but I'm Australian and grew up with loads of people like him, just slightly toned down. I can't stand the half Australian half American accent though.

I enjoyed that episode thoroughly. It was great hearing the stories from back in the day.

Getting doses of ellis during the ad reads was still too much. First ep I've been able to listen to in full.  Would definitely enjoy another episode with these two.

Ellis is basically bogan Bert Kreischer, just a smidge less unbearable.

In all reality, I don't know if Gonz would have loved Ellis, or hated him, but it would have been entertaining to see either scenario play out. Still a great episode as is. I kind of thought Gonz was just an erratic spazz, but hearing him so coherent really made me appreciate him more.
Hopefully not a kook, but if so, fuck it.

The Gonz prepared for this interview, caught Tony off guard with his knowledge, but Tony redeemed himself by shouting out Dead Hippie out by name, Mackenzie. This could have gone on for hours and hours and no one would have an ill word to say.

They are trying to broaden their audience by having non skate guests, but I love the skate focused episodes.    Lance Mountain, Andrew Reynolds, and the Gonz ones are awesome. They are all still so passionate about skating.   Not to shit on the nine club,   but in comparison they seem to be podcasters first,  skaters second,   (As is Ellis which makes him a bit much).   Hawk is mid 50s and still skates a ton.

The Tony Hawk rolodex is massive, the entire world knows you and only you. That is insane and unheard of in any other industry. Imagine if you were Michael Jordan and no one could name another basketball player.

Who is the second most famous skater in the world? Bam? Katherine Hepburn? No one is even close.

The guy Tony had on who played background drums for the Blue Man Group in the 90's was pretty funny. Who?

I’m Australian too and that familiarity is part of why I can’t stand him.

Geeze so Tony Hawk literally has to go to NYC and sit through an earthquake to interview Gonz and all y’all talk about it is Ellis? Sounds like y’all secretly love him. That’s right Y’all

It was a good episode as to be expected unlike the interview which was completely unexpected.

Tony's hair color in the thumbnail is fucking hilarious. With that said, I'm excited to watch this.

Just watched and it was a good episode. At the end when he asked Gonz if there was anything else he wanted to talk about. He said No flat out. I laughed pretty hard.

I’m with you on this.
Gonz for sure loves Ellis.

I think most people in Jason’s life genuinely enjoy him, especially now that he’s 100% sober. I see gonz and Ellis fanning out on Jeff Phillips together and shooting the shit mad easily.

Good to hear this chat, and good Ellis wasn't there. Him popping up 3 times in ad format was ruthless, so draining

i just started watching the bob odenkirk episode and i’m seeing that tony is now dying his hair, possibly to match his obviously dyed eyebrows. except the kicker is that he has somewhat of a fade going so, you see the gray growing underneath the obviously dyed brown hair. on top of that it looks like his eyebrows are either thinning away or, he’s going for that look that has become super popular amongst younger women where they bleach their eyebrows and keep their natural darker hair color on top. i love tony but, man, him and cab are both trying way too hard to stay young in such different, yet equally bizarre and confusing ways.

Yeah, the Tony hair dying situation makes zero sense to me. He’s pretty self aware and admittedly/openly a total dork so why he would be ashamed of the hair color isn’t adding up. I’m 28 and I’m not there yet but I’ve noticed my hairline receding and hair thinning out for the past 8 years so I can kind relate I guess but I hope I can just allow it all to run it’s course naturally with no intervening as it happens.

This motherfucker is spinning McTwists at 56 though. If anything, the older he looks, the radder his skating is going to seem.

All of these fake old guys on instagram like the French silverfox idiot reap the benefits of ripping and looking geriatric, get with the program Tony. You’re not faking the funk, you’re bonafide old. Embrace it.

how was that episode?  Generally was stoked to see Bob push a skate.  Did they talk about that Saul episode when he had those skaters to the scam on Tuco's mom "who you callin a bizznatch"

late to the party on the Gonz episode. Didn't realize, nor would I have guessed Tony was such a gonz fan. Gonz on the other hand, seems more like a regular as dude, than the eccentric artist/legend he comes across as.
