Like BRINK alludes to, this is one of the most ban happy echo chambers. Just go through some old threads and like half of the posters are banned. Mods are on the same wavelength as any far left / far right subreddit that restricts any dissenting opinion to ensure conformity.
Again, BRINK says: "there's no way for me to have a normal interaction here anymore."
This is a really bad take.
And, if you are going attach your cart to Brunk's horse you are making a big mistake. His moderation appears to have absolutely nothing to do with his politics or his values. Instead, it seems to stem from his manner of interacting with others: his insistence on responding to every comment in a thread, digging in and always escalating every discussion, always playing the victim, being easily offended, and not understanding the difference between banter and insults. He doesn't understand the rules of the playground and then escalates things well outside the bounds of a normal discussion.
Debate is welcomed over certain topics. Disagreement certainly happens all the time. I don't think
@OldieButFrenchie and I agree all that often. And I think
@SneakySecrets and I usually disagree on basically everything. The difference is we rarely toss out insults nor do we frantically respond to every post. (This isn't to say none of us have crossed the line here and there, but we don't do so on a consistent basis.) And, weird, despite our disagreements none of us have been banned.
And, yea, mods banning over homophobic or transphobic or racist or misogynist slurs and petty insults is completely fine. None of these behaviors represent a "normal" interaction.
Now stop trying to derail the thread with this nonsense. The thread is about Chris Cole's behavior and the Taylors enjoying spousal abuse stories.
