Also, I will never understand the oil industry. Why do we still need so much oil. We have massive surpluses
power, control, greed
its capitalism 101
But the surplus pushes prices down. Scarcity drives prices up, as far as I understand things
surplus doesnt equate to lower prices
for high demand resources
having it all means you call the price
“surplus” means nothing in a culture
where excess is perpetually undefined
and “having it all” is the championed idea
nobody says they have a surplus of gold
it would be referred to as a vault of gold,
which will always be expanded upon to fit more gold
well before the word “surplus” is ever used
military might will be demonstrated
before there is ever a true scarcity for any resource
that is how the new world was built
and will systematically continue to operate
