I back it. I’ll never hate on someone getting on a “low end” shoe brand. Airwalks aren’t overly priced and don’t try to buy their way into being “Cool”. We want more shoe brands than just the big 3 (Nike, Adidas, Vans) but then we shit on someone like Clive going to Airwalk.

Airwalk was the leading cause of plantar fasciitis in the late 80s and early 90s

is there still talk of him getting on hardbody?
or is this the nail in the coffin
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Sad thing is this could have been the ad and people still wouldn't have bat an eye. I sincerely hope that Clive goes full Andy Macdonald, picks up that coveted Red Vines sponce, and slowly cashes in after a career of killing himself.

Crazy how airwalks were the 3rd biggest shoe co behind Nike and adidas in the 90s and that they fell off so hard in the 2000s
If they just remade the old ones, but with better structure, like rubber under the suede toes, they’d probably get some sales, I could see them being pretty big especially with kids dressing with their version of the 90s right now. Jason Lee, tennis ball Jim shoes, gto’s, blue suede shoes, just bring back  the line from 95-97

Those are 20 bucks at Walmart.  Can’t hate on someone using their endorsement to back an inexpensive option.  Hope he’s getting paid well for it and it makes the kid wearing Walmart shoes feel a little cooler.

Incredibly based take. Salute to you sir.

They were THE SHOE for Midwest kids getting into ska and inline skating in the late 90s. I don't remember them even trying to market as a skateboarding shoe in the peak THPS era.

It felt like they died off when Rowley made the move from them to resuscitate Vans

what’s the reason there’s never been an Enigma reboot?  I’ve got a closet full of good insoles just waiting.  is there a licensing issue?  i’ve got the crispy ghetto wear cargos locked and loaded already.  and a grip of A1 meat and tracker stickers to seal the enigmas up when i cut them down.

There’s no way they got the molds for those. Nor the care to bring um back for a half dozen 40 year olds.

I’d rather just see other brands that make better Shit knock the colourway once a year. I think there is enigma flavor Tiago’s.

Lakai knocked it a while back intentionally I think. I missed out

They did remake the enigma in 2011 but used Mike v to push them and that was peak thinnest shoes possible time so I guess they didn't take off.

Also while trying to look them up discovered the Airwalk enigma is a type of kids bmx bike now

if your size is 7.5 then there's this genuine 90s pair that's priced like an asics skate shoe, but those airwalks are kinda worth it because of their rarity, fuck a $200 asic. there's also the reissue in a size 12 for $100, same kinda colorway but suede toe

Why would you spin 360 and keep airwalking towards the shoes you seemingly don't like? Shouldn't it be 180? But then again what do I know, I didn't accept &&s wall ride as his claimed "360 wall ride".

You airwalk backwards. The 360 is just for flair.

Looking at Tuckers insta, i believe he as well as Clive are not "on" Airwalk but got paid to do a promotional campaign for both photos and filming. Nick even has it in his bio where to contact for such collabs/rates. In the next so many years as being a "pro" is not paying as much a lot of pros with a solid social media numbers will be doing this to have money coming in. Also have heard of some "core" skate shoe companies reaching out to none skaters with large social followings to do the same.

I don't know about Clive, but Nick got paid to do a post for them and skates other shoes all the time. I don't think Airwalk has a "team" they just want to get back into the skating market and are paying certain pros/influencers to do posts for them.

It reminds me of when Pat Duffy rode for that Walmart brand airspeed, even had a pro shoe but would only skate other shoes openly.

Pro skating is utterly ruthless.

You go from noseblunt sliding Staples Center to having some dipshit photog telling you to smile with your eyes as you pose.

It looked like airspeed had a hell of a run for what it was. Maybe it was because I was in my working class rural college town, but they really caught on with the skaters

Loved the Airwalk video. Shot on film, SoCal surf rock and their team was stellar. Fine work Jamie Mosberg.

Pat Duffy was somehow on like duffs, Macbeth, and airspeed all at the same time . It was confusing to 11 year old me reading transworld everyone would praise the dudes accomplishments but then he always had an ad near the back repping the lamest companies.
