Hanging skateboard decks on your wall is tacky as fuck after age 25. Probably even before that but I’m trying to be nice. Why not save your money for original art or NFTs and skate the boards or give them to kids that need boards since you won’t skate then? . It’s not like that FA board is screen printed. It’s like heat transfer or some shit and when the sun hits it after a year it will be faded and not the same. Nts yellow and green

How are you gonna say wallhangers are tacky and then suggest we spend our money on NFTs in the same breath?

heres mine

i have 5 that i have kept, might expand it later on but i filled one wall and dont have money to buy more for awhile.

HUF Street Fighter one probably owuld have been dope to skate but w/e the graphic is too sick. just really special board to me and i want to keep it nice.

the white sausage one one my friends all signed when i moved home from germany.

the toy machine deck that i really like the graphic on i got while i was in germany as well so thats why i hung onto it.

the one with the stack of CD cases is Bryan Wherry deck cause he is the only guy from my area whos ever gone pro. lots of ppl have asked me to sell it to them.

and then the last one i have is a E Honda street fighter deck which is my main character from street fighter which to come full circle i dumped probably at least 5000 hours of my life into, maybe more?

I don't have any boards on the wall but my good friend has all four DGK x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles boards on his living room wall. Which seems logical.

I just giggled at the thought of someone having a REAL oval price point deck on their wall.

For me the brand and style of deck factor in. I feel like most decks I hang are from more ‘fashion’ or non ‘core’ brands that might emphasize art more than quality of deck to skate. Or maybe a shape or size that I dont usually skate- so there is not a temptation to take it off the wall and ‘ruin’ it. Then again, there are some graphics that look better with scrapes, so I hang them after I skate them. If the graphic and quality of the deck are both good I’ll get two: one to hang and one to skate. I just grabbed two of the Paul Grund ‘Nicole’ Polar decks for this very reason. I couldn’t decide to hang it or skate it…so…why not both!?

Funny enough i was gonna buy the grund deck so i could save the pablo, its dirt cheap rn on swarehouse and that shape on the 8.6 looks sooo good. How are you liking it so far?
Don’t know yet! At work and the FedEx text just hit that it arrived. Going to set it up this weekend….first p9 shape…excited!

I had the Toy last supper deck. I was so stoked on the graphic. It was a 8.38 and I made a switch from my usual 8.25. I hated the board. Ended up selling it after 2 sessions. Bummer.

I dig the 90s Hip Hop CD board. I can relate because I collect a lot of 90s Hip Hop CDs. Here’s just a small part of my collection.

For me it's the nostalgia, the designer, the pro, the design etc. it all adds up.

I have tons of Alien workshops from 1995-2005 that are high in value. Obviously I'm never skating those because of the designs, they're my fav pro's and they're still screened, and there's almost NONE of them around anymore.

Scarcity drives up the value tremendously so apart from the great artwork, it would be a dumb financial move to skate these. I can go to skateshop and buy a new deck for 10 times less of what these are worth...

Yeah!  So good!

I can't help but think about old Alien Workshop graphics every time I see Darkroom boards (Don Pendleton's graphics), but the real star is all those weird little dioramas that they made and then took pics of for the whole board graphic, as I had so many of those boards when I was younger.  Seeing the "behind the scenes" in making those was really interesting too.

Could just be my youthful (wistful) thinking, but AWS always had such good shapes of boards too back in the day.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

So sick. I shelled out some good money for a couple of Alien boards without really vetting the quality. Good wall hangers, but the second round, I made sure to do my homework. They're all form the Warhol series (I'm simple, I know), so the hangers are Dill and Dylan (some blemishes from before I got them; got some money back off the exchange) and a couple still in the wrap (another Dill and an Omar Salazar deck, because his Mind Field part was my fave).
