ordered these for $28 this morning....looks like they put a normal waffle sole on the bottom, i know it's probably been brought up before but have people had good times skating them? too many times almost buying these kinda psyched i pulled the trigger on them finally.

Wait, you put actual time and thought in to paying money for these?

I bought a 9 (my size) in the canvas pair I have, and they fit just fine.

Hoping suede will be the same situation

NICE! I was wondering about the leather, cause I have been eyeing those "elephant" leather black ones.

I got a pair of the Lakai Griffin XLK after reading the Fallen thread and skating Nike Project BA's for the last 2.5 years

I put the FP Kingfoam Insoles inside and they're really comfortable right out the box. Skated em for a few hours yesterday and was a little weird getting used to a wider toe box but skated really well after 20 minutes.

my ONLY beef with em is the thin collar; edit; and no tongue center straps.

Really looking forward to skating more lakai XLK .. looked on there site and they ONLY have two XLK models - the ones i posted and the MJ low. i remember on the upcoming shoes thread for next fall has more cupsoles

The suede is a lot nicer...the canvas took awhile to break in....

Do the NB 533 take a long time to break in? I've been wearing mine for 5 days (1 day skated) and they still feel brand new.

Those are the ones i have. Not sure why they are "elephant" but they break in super well. They are my go-to (classy af) rain beaters now.

The toes hurt initially for me because of the thick plastic under the suede. Stick em in the microwave or put em in your trunk when it gets hot outside.

How do they take impact in comparison to the Project BAs? With & without the kingfoams

i skated just a ledge and flat the day i got to skate the Lakais. Same with the BAs I dont skate any stairs really and Ive ONLY skated em with  the FP insoles... They're pretty good and comfy just a little wider than the BAs so i gotta lace em up tight.
