Currently obsessed with Mount and Blade 2. I love running around winning arena battles, fighting raiders and looters, taking the survivors as prisoners to ransom and building up cash to hire more guys for my army, and the wage/food mechanic for your party makes it so much more addictive. Huge, always changing political and rivalry/warfare system is something I wanna start messing with when I get enough influence and renown to even be able to walk up to a castle without getting told to go away lol. Already have enough clout that a couple of lords offered to marry my daughters. Insanely deep game that I stepped away from for a year and just got back into that I just can't stop playing.

Finally got around to modding my Wii U, and it’s amazing that I can still play online with the open source network that some fans created when Nintendo shut down their servers.

Played some Windwaker in HD and Zen Pinball 2 along with Pinball Arcade.

Still very early days, but Crimson Desert is fun so far.
[close]

I've been pretty tempted by this. Is it worth getting right now at full price?
[close]

Yeah, I think a lot of the big bugs they had at the beginning have been fixed, and they have a long term updated schedule too.
[close]

Sweet. I'll probably snag it this weekend.

Ended up getting Crimson Desert over the weekend.

Can confirm that it's INCREDIBLE.

Finished Cronos
It was great.

Hell yeah. Love to hear this.
I played the whole thing on Steam Deck and it was fucking great. I bought my mate a copy of it for his birthday too and he really got on with it as well.

Seriously love what Bloober Team have been doing with it and Silent Hill 2 REmake, and will absolutely be there day one for their next game.

Recently I've been enjoying REPLACED and Dispatch, both very different to each other and even though I m not close to the end of Dispatch I can recommend them both. If you know what you're going in for and think you might enjoy some aspects of either game I can recommend them both for those very different reasons.

Second playthrough of RE requiem and switched to Insanity mode.

VERY fulfilling to get through Grace’s section in the hospital and return as Leon to clean up.

Might be climbing up as my favorite RE next to RE4

Has anyone played the new Shadow Warriors? I remember owning the first one on a computer that wasn't good enough to run it and despite the some of the, uhhh, "dated" jokes, the game play was super fun for the era.

Shadow Warrior 2 was on sale for 5 dollars, so I figured why not? The same price as a rental would have been from Blockbuster back in the day. I feel ripped off. This feels like renting something on a Friday night and being stuck with a game that isn't fun.

So far, the battle feels terrible. The enemies all seem to require a million hits or cuts to kill, something always seems to spawn directly behind me, and I often don't even understand/see what is hurting me. It has a ton of weapons, which is cool, but so many of the weapons are complete garbage. I got the rippers (no idea why, they just appeared after talking to someone) and was excited to try them out. First enemy after receiving these took basically no damage from them and I died immediately.

And, after collecting all the stuff for some mission, the game didn't indicate that I had completed my mission. I was wandering around for 10 minutes. Is Shadow Warrior 3 better?

I knew OF Shadow Warrior but hadn't ever touched the series until 3 when it was added to PS Plus at launch.

Personally I thought it was over-the-top (and) fun, the combat arenas ended up having a really nice rhythm to them.
The music helped a lot, the humour is whatever but kind of endearingly stupid, and overall I think it's worth giving a go to. Pretty linear and you are always kinda moving forward, not too long a game.
It was one of the first games I bought when I got a PS5 and don't regret it one bit. It's not my favourite game but as far as "Boomer shooters" go I think it's a decent package.

Do the Dead or Alive games require skill or are they full on button mashers?

I downloaded the demo DoA6 and button mashing seems to be working far too well.  :'(

Decided to punish myself by trying Demon’s Souls again. Started off with the Royalty class this time. I’ve died about 10 times (maybe more) in Gates of Boletaria and have yet to make any real progress.lol
I’ve never played any Souls games in the past and I’m starting to think that I may have chosen the wrong one to start with.

If anyone has any tips or advice on surviving and making the run back less grueling, please PM me.

There's not really much you can do until after you beat the boss of 1-1 aside from experiment, explore, and learn how to properly block or dodge enemy attacks. I think Demon's Souls is a good starting point... that's where I started

There's lots of little things to know but making sure your equip load is low so you can fast roll and making sure you meet the stat requirements for the weapons/gear you're trying to use is important

couple hours into Lords of the Fallen (newest)

Some pretty neat elements, the dual wielding feels really sweet.

Solid co-op mechanics too. Simple, easy, nothing crazy but it works really well
Wow sorry, didn't realise I was dealing with a sick cunt here

@Cheshire Cat

SW3 finally went on sale again. $9.99. It is a million times better than SW2.

So far I'm liking it.

However, something feels like its missing. I can't quite put my finger on it but there is some small tactile mechanic missing. Maybe a lack of rumble in key moments? Maybe the developer didn't take full advantage of the adjustable trigger button? Maybe more resistance is needed when running into an enemy? Maybe a missing visual signal when one has been hit by the enemy? Not sure.

Made some progress in Demon’s Souls and beat the Phalanx in Boletaria. Moved on to the Shadowmen and now I’m raging at some bag of bones spamming rolls and heavy swings. Good times.

Cool to hear you're enjoying it, hopefully my input had a bit of a positive impact on you deciding to pick it up.

It has been a while since I've played any of it, but if it's anything like a whole pile of games on PS5 it probably doesn't use the haptics and resistive triggers to their full advantage.

I genuinely love when games really go all out with those controller features, it can really add to the full feeling of the game and experience overall.

Demon’s Souls is finally making sense for me. I beat the False Idol in Prison of Hope without taking damage the other day. Gonna plunge back in when I get off work this afternoon. Time to show those fuckass Shadowmen I mean business.

Playing the South Park machine in Zen Pinball 2 for Wii U.

My wife has the high score and is wiping the floor with everyone else in the house trying to take her crown. Lots of yelling, screaming and laughing in the process.

My wife also has a ridiculous score on the Butters machine, too, that is untouchable so I don’t even try.

I’m full in on Demon’s Souls now. Spent a few hours last night taking out the last two first level bosses with minimal deaths.
Made it to the boss in Upper Latria and was unpleasantly surprised by TWO hulking Gargoyles called Maneaters that lived up to their name.

Finally at a point where my magic build is alllllmost OP enough to one shot most basic enemies. For anyone wanting to get into it, hit me up if you have questions about the Royalty class and what you should upgrade.

I'm about 65 hours into Crimson Desert and am still loving it. Somehow it still feels like I'm just getting started. I've explored so much and have only seen like 1/6 of the map.

Playing the 007: First Light game on PS5 and it's fucking excellent so far.

Few hours in and I've got high hopes for the rest of it.
I wasn't immediately sold on the young Patrick Gibson as Bond, but him and Lennie James have been the cast highlights after a few missions.

I just started it too, and have been thoroughly enjoying it. I like that the fights feel so physical and natural for a video game. After 160 hours of Crimson Desert, I just needed a bit of a palate cleanser.

Making great progress in Demon’s Souls as of late. I’ve taken out three of the five archdemons so far. Last night was the Penetrator and I somehow pulled that off second try.

Still stuck on the Maneaters in Upper Latria and Dragon God in the Tunnels. I’m not even going to attempt the Valley of Defilement until I absolutely have to.
