Broke two decks on back-to-back morning sessions trying another stupid fucking flip trick on a pyramid.

I am one of those people who has a hard time walking away from a trick that I can't land or haven't landed to my arbitrary standards of perfection. It's starting to make skating less fun, but the habit is so ingrained I'm having trouble changing my behavior. I have an addictive personality so I'm sure it's just an extension of that - it's tough when the activities you use to escape/work through the bullshit start affecting your mental wellbeing too.

Ol’ Papa Sizzle hit me with the classic “you need to go to a psych facility or put a bullet in your head or your mother won’t be at peace” then spent a good couple minutes absolutely enraged telling me how he would love to stomp my face into bloody pulp, wasn’t the worst family meeting but it was in a restaurant in front of a shitload of people so I got out of there ASAP. Pierogies were fucking bomb though and I didn’t have to pay so hey silver linings

Not really stoked on life. Things are generally going ok for me on paper... I often don’t feel like life seems worth it. Actively working on improving my mental health helps but it gets exhausting.

It's a pain in the ass fr. Being normal is a shit ton of work.

The condition of the tiles at Palais de Tokyo and milano centrale
you were there recently ?
Palais de Tokyo ground has been reworked a few years ago. They didn't change all the tiles but the most damaged areas are pretty good right now

I think I'm becoming something like a pat Bateman short of a murderous rampage of course but the rest of the mind set.

I’m on vacation with my Aunt/Uncle and younger cousin. He’s fairly smart and realizes it, but is utterly insufferable. I’ve been “corrected” 600,000 times n the past 72 hours and I’m about to punch him in the fucking face. Probably the biggest know it all I’ve ever had the displeasure of being around in my life. I’ve never spent this much time with him and I wonder how he navigates life being this unbearable. He corrects EVERYTHING anyone says. He’s gonna be a lonely person if he keeps this up

So i bought a tripod and today, I filmed my self skating for the first time. I got a few clips from a few years ago but I never filmed a full sesh. My initial thought was, before I get to old and shit,(I will be 40 in 3 months) why not documenting what I do all day so I can look back later on in life.
And boy.. My skating looks terrible. I mean it looks totally different than it feels. I'm stiff as fuck. OK it was 4 degree celsius and my body is still a bit fucked from a slam on sunday.. But man I really have to work on the way i use my legs. I basically don't bend my knees at all and my back foot stays down after I pop. And sometimes my tail does not follow my back foot fast enough, maybe because my front foot does not extend that far. No wonder i lost so many tricks..

This has been the last 3 Xmas for me. Luckily not a holiday just a day at family's house. You gotta fight by just being even dumber.

Watching myself skate on video has definitely helped me develop what I feel is a better style. It can be shocking if you haven't seen yourself skate in a long time. If you keep that footage in mind and work on making it better you'll be stoked on the changes and better habits you make.

I definitely did the thing with the back foot not coming up far enough to match the front, I worked on dipping the nose down while raising the back foot to get a more presentable slightly tweaked Ollie which has become my new standard.

Yea I already began to work on it in my head. Now that I know I can fix it. I wonder why no one ever told me the obvious. I mean if I would see a homie struggle with tricks an see what they do wrong I tell them.

finally got a chance to skate in the winter after not skating for 3 months and the tweaked shoulder i thought healed in that time flared up next day after the session without any bails or non-ordinary strain on it and its persisted for a while. too poor to attend physio or see a specialist to get it assessed so im just doing pushups and other shoulder exercises until it feels better but its only felt worse. I just want to be healthy when the spring comes...

I had a tweaked shoulder last year and I wouldn't go away for months. The first doc I went to told me that it needs endoscopy because he thought that my rotator cuff is fucked.. (based on some MRI pictures) then I went to a doctor that is kinda specialized in shoulders and all it took was one little injection under the bone. It basically healed over night. I think a normal doc can do this too.
I did some exercises with a rubber band too.
If it's really that bad, see a doctor. You only have one body ya know..

-Ex-gf (mutual friendly breakup) makes big plans to move across the country
-gets a job offer in her field with significant raise
-gets apartment all lined up w/ app fees paid in full
-put in official resignation notice with current job
-had another job interview during the workday which her supervisor approved and agreed to cover her during it
-next day the supervisor says too busy with a meeting to be able to cover
-she takes the interview anyway which somehow translated to a HIPAA violation and now she's fired one day later.
...........
-No idea if she'll be eligible for unemployment
-No idea if this will circle back to losing prospective new job and cancel her entire plan to move
-No idea if we'll even be able to cover rent on our current apartment with this loss of income let alone her be able to afford the move now

Just a fucking cluster bomb of events this week all from taking one fucking job interview at the wrong fucking time

I feel like I just go from one shitty job to the next. I'm definitely in a better place than last year but I'm just sick of dealing with nasty coworkers.

Got a speeding ticket for going 40mph in a 35mph school zone. Can you guess my race?

Be thankful for the time you did have together and what they chose to pass on to you. Reading and writing music is a valuable skill. Not everyone gets to inherit more than a physical or monetary possession when their grandparents pass.

Still, though it is hard. And it must be particularly difficult when you are one of the last to know. Stay strong, keep playing and put what she taught you into your music and she will always be with you.
