Re-watched Trees Lounge. It is an entertaining film. It is interesting choice for Buscemi. I find it curious that in his writing-directing-leading actor film, he decides to frame his character as the charming bar fly alcoholic adulterer. I'd be curious to hear about the inspiration for this film. And it makes me wonder what he is like outside of his roles.
It is a completely different character than he played in Ghost World, which is an obvious comparison with relationship with the much younger lady.
I'm so lame. This was far more engaging than I thought. A bit of crazy, a bit of Goffman, a bit of existentialism, and a lot of monologuing. But it works.
