Hey could you guys help me out? I finally found a used Canon AE-1 for a decent price and I'm going to check it out next week. As I'm kind of a beginner can you tell me what are the things I should check, and what should I look out for? My Zenit E stopped working, and I heard the AE-1 is a really good learning camera and was really stoked to track one down in my area, but i want to make sure it works fine. Thanks in advance!

Check to make sure the the light meter works by lightly depressing the shutter release while the camera is unlocked. you should see the pin in the viewfinder jump when pointed at light (or numbers will light up if it's an AE-1 Program), you might want to bring a battery to do this. Make sure the film door is secured tightly when closed. Fire the shutter, if it has a squealing sound it may need to be repaired.

The ae1 has an electronic shutter, so definitely bring a battery with you. Otherwise you won't be able to fire the shutter.

^i would love offer to create something if i had any blog creating skills, but as it is, i dont.

On a side note, i ended up having a few drinks and smokes with a photographer friend and ended up with these, both of which are single exposures, with multiple flashes.

yeah he's laying on a slack line. only for a split second for the photo, it's super hard to lay down like that for any longer. thanks man!

Do you have the password for the email account used? I assume tumblr has a password recovery feature.
