If I may give you some critique, I think you go overboard with post-processing on your photos. It makes them look unnatural.

Great work everyone, as usual.

I have some stuff to share but Flickr changed and I don't know how to embed my photos like I did.

Ugh.

This might help ya. If you use Firefox, follow the directions and you can see the layout of the "old new" Flickr.

Yahoo totally fucked up Flickr so bad. This helps... for now.

Today's the last day to submit to the photo zine I do and having some pals in it would be awesome. The theme is "The City" which is completely open up to your interpretation so send in whatever you want! Skylines, street portraits, skateboarding, traditional street photography, cars, whatever!

For more information on sizes and stuff, please take a look at the submissions page: www.cadillacranchdressing.com/submissions/

Send your submissions to [email protected]!

havent had much SLAP time in the past few days. all the new stuff in this thread is really awesome though. nice work guys!

been spending most of my free time at work trying to figure out whats wrong with my damn yashica. i think i have to replace the pad of death, but im not certain. i have no experience fixing cameras so im not too excited to tear the thing apart. i really want to get a 35mm, but i dont want to buy another camera that i need to fix. been thinking about just selling the yashica and picking up an olympus trip 35. no batteries, so hopefully less problems to worry about with electrical parts. anyone have any suggestions for a reliable and reasonably priced 35mm ($50-100)?

anyway, heres my contribution.

Construction is happening outside my building right now.  Tearing up the streets pretty good.  Crazy that these guys have to work though the night, even in the rain.

i am kinda tech savvy (do native speakers say that?) but at least try to take it apart. mine doesnt suffer from the dreaded pad of death, but i cleaned the viewfinder. this one is pretty damn good: http://brianallengodfrey.blogspot.de/2010/08/8172010-yashica-electro-35-gsn-repair.html

just get a few cups and put every part you take part in there in correct order, then start from the last cup again. in the worst case you can put it together and have a nice decoration, in the best case it works like a charm.

plus its damn interesting.

im going to take it to a camera shop today and see if they might be able to give me a little advice. i already took it to a different one thats on my way home from work and they didnt even want to look at it. ive been in there a few times in the past few weeks kinda just wanting to talk to someone who knows their shit but the dudes in that place only want to talk to you've got a dlsr, or if youre looking to spend a bunch of money buying one. its not like a skateshop vibe. hopefully this other shop will be a bit more helpful. either way, i think im going to take it apart this weekend and see if i need to replace the pad. my dad has a nice workshop where he does gun smithing, so im sure ill have all the tools i need, plus hes pretty good with mechanical stuff so he might be able to help out. i appreciate the advice hercules.

Thanks man. Your construction shots look awesome. The way the lights reflect off the wet pavement looks sick!

Took the yashica to the camera store today and to my luck, I found out that it works! The battery the kooks at the other camera store sold me wasn't powerful enough or something and that's why my shutter wasn't closing. The dude there had an original mecury battery and used it to test my camera and everything was working. He told me some other batteries that worked, so I got those and now I'm in business.

I also bought a minox 35 GL for $50. Put batteries in that and the shutter doesn't work. I found a pretty detailed guide to fix it though and it looks super simple. Either way, I have 10 days to return it if it doesn't work.

AAAAND I bought a trip 35 on eBay. So now I have more cameras than I probably need but I'm super stoked.
