That's crazy you don't edit anything Matze, dust really irks me on my own photos but they look nice on your B&W ones. I've always like the muted tones of your color photos.

those are quite nice rickynorse

especially the one with those foxes and the last one. you'll be good with the ae-1...it's one of the best filmcameras to own. I know a bunch of people who's first camera was ae-1, me included.

Me and a few homies put out this zine thingy from Yom Kipur sessions from the last few years. Yom Kipur is a religious jewish holiday where youre not allowed to drive\eat\drink\do whatever, so every year for 36 hours we have the streets to our own, bombing all the hills, skating all the closed down businesses and have all the homies from all over the country gather and skate. In my city its become a tradition and since its built on a mountain its endless fun.
Its about 20 pages with 35mm photos i shot through the last 4 years, a sticker pack with stickers from the last 8 years events and a cd with a new scene video we edited and it comes packed in a cardboard cover that we folded and printed ourselves. turned out amazing.
im really stoked about it and the response has been amazing.

I am looking to get into shooting more film and right now I just have a camera I found in my parents house that doesnt really allow for too much freedom with settings. Anyone have a recommendation for a decent film camera to get back into things? I met a girl who has the key to her schools darkroom so I can finally develop my own shit again. I have a bunch of nikon lenses if that helps anything.

i need to get silverfast. i fucking hate the epson software.  currently printing these digitally 24"x36" but would love to have c-type prints done if i could afford it or anybody did it around me.
Don't get your hopes too high with Silverfast... It's probably the best out of these scanning software but still... Very unintuitive, very ugly, vary bad layout... Good result though.

I've shot mostly color film this summer (over 300negs that I've just finished scanning) to force me to learn scanning color properly and getting the white balance and curves right but I'm still not there... I'd like to reach some of that "creaminess" of the photos you posted above. I've used Portra 400 but Silverfish gives me wildly inconsistent results and I am too lazy to adjust thing for hours in lightroom, but I'd like to learn. It takes me 5 secs to get exactly what I want with Black & White but with color I've have yet to get it (other than by chance). Any tips ?

I've recommended the Canon Cannonet to a friend in your positions and he loves it. It's a fixed lens (35mm) rangefinder, so rather specific, but I guess the limitations are good when you start. Otherwise and since you have Nikon Lenses already any SLR of the F range would be great. They are built like tanks.

Thanks for the tips, I'll try soon. And no, I've never tried wet scanning... I've had a few select color negatives drumscanned when I had to print them big and the quality is incredible but you can't replicate that with a flatbed.

Over the past year or two I've been getting less motivated to take photos, the only thing I've really been shooting is the occasional skate photo, but the year long creative slump has caused me to avoid long lens like the plague and get lazy with the fisheye.

Just discovered this thread, feels like I needed this, everyones killing it. Hopefully can get more pumped to shoot much more this year. I've been getting an urge to pick up a 35mm point n shoot or small film camera, never shot film before, my brain is telling me to stick with what I know and save money(currently shooting on a m43 compact,) we'll see what happens.

Anyway heres some skate photos, cheers for the hype!

I bought one a couple of months ago for my first camera and stopped taking pictures because I had no idea what I was doing. I kind of wish I just bought a digital camera instead. Are you just learning as you go?

If you want a great filmcamera I would get a Nikon F90 or F100 even maybe a F6 if you got the money. Had a F90 for a year or so and I really loved it! I shoot alot with my Olympus Mju II now which also is a great point&shoot.
