Stoked on this post from the “things you are not stoked on” thread:

Expand Quote
People scraped my car while parking or pulling out, added two dents, as well as various scratches to the right side. I was so pissed off, but I have to just let it go and maybe start parking by the leasing office where there’s cameras. These weren’t there on Friday, so it happened over the weekend. Someone did this shit in January or February and the people at the leasing office don’t do shit except tell me to get cameras, which doesn’t work since I can’t always find parking across from the front window.

Someone has been denting my car for the past year, and it has to be someone in my building. I don’t talk to anyone and don’t do shit to anyone. I’ve never even accidentally opened my car door and dented someone else’s car even when the wind is bad. There is no way I’m buying a new vehicle until after buying my first house with a garage. Also, I just applied touch up paint on Friday… If I catch the person, I’m just going to record it and try to get them evicted, because I’d look like an asshole if I resort to violence.

Edit:

You anywhere near the Sacramento valley? If you are, those look like the majority will buff out. I’d do it for you if you’re close.

So we’re all feeling better from stomach bug and my niece and her kids are still here

I put my great niece Heidi on a board tonight, she’s four. Did some skating as well but I’m drunk and we were in the house so nothing too hectic
Last night I showed her boys of summer
Feels good man

I’ll take her skating after I finish work tomorrow

Met up with a good homie from back in the day to skate my local today. It’s really nice when things pick right back up where they were.

I found some low kind of rounded banked curbs that are rough but have potential up the street from me. I can’t wait to rub brick, lacquer and break them in.

https://nebraskapublicmedia.org/en/news/news-articles/nebraskas-largest-skate-park-opens-in-lincoln/

30+ years in the making. Got a chance to head down there this weekend and roll around. In a way, I'm kind of glad that it took so long. This iteration of the park is way better than what was modeled out 30 years ago.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Finally moving forward with arm rehab after having a detached bicep for a fucking year and a half. Absolute insurance nightmare, but I saved up to get the imaging and rehab done out of pocket. Doc says surgery wouldn’t even be worth it, so we are going straight to PT and I should be able to improve it significantly. Kinda weird to be excited that I’ll be deformed forever but fuck it, I’m psyched for any kind of progress.

Lead ankle feels the best it’s felt in months. It healed overnight like magic.

Got ahead of myself and almost fucked it up again trying a 6 stair in the wind and dancing in the shower to weeded last post in the music thread.

So stoked. Just pre-ordered the new Boards of Canada on vinyl with a pretty cool t-shirt.
Won't be sent out until May 29th which kinda sucks cause that's the same day it's gonna drop on streaming. I really wanted my first listen to be on my record player and big floor speakers, but I'm probably gonna get impatient and stream it over my headphones before it arrives. Oh well, still stoked as fuck. NEW BOARDS OF CANADA!!!

Ordered a couple boards directly from Polar (I ride 7.878 which few local shops stock) and Polar hooked it up with grip with both boards.

Stoked that I can just put this together and skate tonight.

Hadn't seen that Body Heat is one of the May releases. Waited for a proper release for as long as Altered States.

I gained a second niece last night and I'm so excited. I'm up to 6 nieces and nephews now.

Congratulations dude. I'm sorry to go a bit (unnecessary/uncalled for) dark here, but the love I have for my three nieces and nephew (and the joy I've had watching them grow up into teenagers) has been a really fucking big part of me recovering from a suicide attempt and coping with the anxiety and depression that came after that. That's how fucking fun it can be to be an uncle. Enjoy that shit. It matters. But you probably didn't need me to remind you of that at all. Oh and if you find a way to get them into skateboarding let me know; I've only had some very temporary sucesses with that.

Now what I came here for:

British comedian James Acaster (whom I love) watches/listens to skateboarding podcasts to relax. He's never skated, and doesn't strike me as someone who hangs around with Tom Knox and Blondey on the daily. He just finds it comforting to listen to I guess (I've got shit that I listen to sometimes like that). I wonder what podcast it is. Probably, considering all factors, the Nine Club (James Acaster is absolutely the guy that would correctly identify anyone like Jason Ellis, let alone Tim Pool, as the complete pricks that they are and just not watch any further). But I really hope it's the Bunt, in whatever way that could have happened. No, Gifted Hater actually. Maybe I should casually drop that name somewhere for him (he doesn't use social media though).

At 8:00. I've heard him mention this two or three times before, outside of this interview here, but I don't remember where or when. I don't know why I'm stoked about this, but I am.

I was real bummed about the factory I’ve been working at for the last 10 years was shutting down in mid June, but it forced to do something that will better my life. Something I never thought I’d do, much less at almost 38:

I’m going back to school.

Going to trade school to study Electromechanics and Automated Systems.

Can’t believe I’m this stoked and motivated to go back to school.

Thanks! I was thinking about just starting a big cartel for it. I’ll probably lose money on it but that’s okay. Pm me your address and I’ll send you a copy. I’m still figuring out the printing but as soon as it’s done I’ll send one to you.
