All ad's suck. The worst are subliminal product placement in whatever...but yeah betting ads are hands down the worst.
Yeah, realizing this more and more. Was employed at a boutique company that just made commercials before and didn't get how insidious these ads are at the subliminal stuff until stepping away to a role more adjacent to the public sector. Even the ppl I dealt with before felt like they were trying to figure out how to game the system, kind of desperate. There's new shady ppl I currently work with (surprisingly, the least of which are the PIs), but the results are more rewarding. There should be commercials on this stuff, like a PSA showing the look of relief on a battered wife's face when her husband gets jailed for violating a TRO, but the ad industry is all about money and the corporations have deeper pockets than the government (save maybe the Lottery).
Honestly, the best commercials I worked on were the ones successfully using humor to get their point across. Kind of the opposite of the Temu ads that just get stuck in your head.
