I briefly tried one of these dbx boards that was three months old, razor tailed like a mf, had to be regripped, looked dusty as hell... pop still felt and sounded brand new.
basalt is brittle, not sure how it would hold up to chipping or snapping. But as far as retaining pop, it really seems to work.
This sounds just like my experience with P2 boards in the 2010s; yes they chipped and wore to a razor tail but they were difficult to outright snap and the pop lasted longer than any other boards I've skated. Had a lot of flex towards the end of their life but I only ever "snapped" one, the others were just chipped too much.
Like even a full set up I had shoot into a river, that held its pop for literal weeks after that as my primary board.
I had a slew of them- multiple Plan Bs , Flip decks and Creature iirc. I back those, but they weren't 120 quid. It was like an extra £5 on rrp. Like to how how these are in comparison.
