Bringing back an unwanted logo is silly.

Bring back manufacturing jobs that you terminated when you started having them made in China.

Isn’t that as huge a part of the Indy identity as the cross?

What’s the timeline on doing that?

As if "traditionalists" cared even remotely as much about local jobs as a WW2 logo.

They brought jobs to Thailand recently. Some of the latest trucks are made in Thailand, not China.

Bob burnquist is wearing a shirt with this text bar in front of the cross from the op in the new Storied (tpudz) vid on Menikmati, (which is actually really good)

This may very well be the Krux of Indy’s demise.

There will definitely be an increase in softgoods sales but probably a decrease in truck sales. Those dorks are too busy listening to podcast bros and collecting Vision/Powell boards to be breaking axles and hangars.

For me it’s always been a skater thing BUT it’s been co-opted by racists that have never skated and would jump you given the chance. So fuck, just let it die, it’s not hard to do a heritage graphic for the ‘what about my youth?! old heads. Use the bar graphic minus the cross on the sides or behind it. Or just design something new already.
It’s 2025 move on. The 80s are gone.

What if taking the cross away was like LCD Soundsystem announcing they were “breaking up” so they could sell out Madison Square Garden without having to get Big Boi from OutKast to open for them

The difference being that Independent Trucks are actually good

I knew some skinheads (ofc they deny it while we were friends and confronted them about it but after we stop hanging they are open about it) and they only rode Indy’s. Ofc they sucked at skating, but they loved the iron cross logo and religiously bought anything with it on it. I’m glad it’s gone and shouldn’t come back. I loved the logo as a kid and repped Indy hard but after all that shit, they should keep it dead. You have to be the most brain dead idiot to think it’s worth bringing it back in any sense. It’s been co-opted for right wing extremist use, and it can never be saved from it.

Ace have always been made in China and all DLX goods are now made in Mexico. No one seems to care about them, but Indy gets shit on  ::)

Let's be real NHS will likely more than make up the lost business in t shirt sales. Even if everyone in this thread rode Indy and stopped buying it's like 2 dozen people. Your average kid buying their first complete or going into a shop won't care. It's still a good product and most people don't switch truck brands often if ever.

It’s just weird how so many grown adults are upset that Indy stopped using the cross logo. It’s like screaming about the Nationwide insurance changing its song.

Right. Just take a look at comments of any video of Indy’s channel and there’s at least one or two ”Bring back the cross!!!”-shit.

Edit: Actually it’s far more worse in IG as we know it. I just don’t have an account so that shit doesn’t creep into my eyes on a daily basis.

That’s not entirely bullshit. 90’s/2000’s gear and look is huge with the youth. They might not be looking for Indy cross shirts exclusively but Indy shirts and West Coast Choppers tees do resell for a good amount of money on eBay, depop etc.

Some of you guys are crazy.
The Indy cross looks like an iron cross just like any cross looks like one. (1)
Should we ban them all ? (2)
And every national symbols because the far right likes them ? (3)
Of course not.
I'm not religious but the Indy cross is a nice logo, if they dropped it to please the pre-Trump cultural climate it's lame.
If they use it again it is also lame as it shows they have no backbone.
[close]

1. Just not true
2. No one is calling for a ban on anything. Just redesign the logo and move on.
3. There's a difference between continuing to use something for it's original purpose that has now been appropriated by racists because you don't want to back down to them (I.E a european church's cross on the architecture) and appropriating imagery after it has already been appropriated by racists (I.E Independent using the Iron Cross after it was established as fascist iconography). If Ace trucks used a Swastika as their logo, would you argue that because it was the Hindu symbol of peace before that, then therefore it's cool? Or is the difference just the fact that the Iron Cross is slightly lesser known?
[close]

I guess I don't see it "appropriated by racists" as much as you and some people do.
The swastika is striking at first glance, its meaning leaves no doubt since its appropriation by the nazis.

I'm surprised the German army still uses the iron cross though.

Indy's dithering and incoherence is the problem.
They talk about the logo, say it's not hateful yet they dropped it years ago.
https://independenttrucks.com/our-logo

Our own military uses the iron cross.

But you didn't have to tat that cross
Make out like you never skated and that we were nothin'
And you don't even need your board
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
