There's a problem with these forums where everybody wants to participate, but there's really only two stances on most issues, so once certain positions get hidden a couple pages back we just go in loops.
Philosophical problem with society really. We live our lives babbling and repeating ideas not our own. Also shed your binary thinking/categorization
This discussion about an image (the cross in this case) and its meaning can also be better understood in light of some Roland Barthes and the process he described as Signification. Briefly, an image (the cross) can be an abstraction of an idea that’s an abstraction of some reality/concept (the truck). Within these layers of abstraction meaning morphs and our biases don’t match therefore here we are in circles getting closer to some shared alleged truth.

people always tell me to stop seeing binaries but like, you either wanna see more of it or you don't y'know? What else is there to say? Everyone always says nothing's black and white to me but like, hey genius, thats a black and white statement according to your rules.
What you say about abstraction is true tho, I see it happen time and again people arguing when they're not even on the same point.
Can anybody ever really convey what they truly mean tho? Like the words that convey a thought may not neccessarily constitute the thought itself. There's a name for this I don't remember. And that meme.

It's especially hard through certain people's like language lens. Like a born philosopher raised on Eazy-E or smth.
Just goes to show knowledge is power.
I'll read that link thx for the naalidge tho. Love this place. Love you.
