My Habitat Janoski cork ply cruiser. I've had it for over a year and its seen some serious miles.

independent 139 trucks
bones swiss 6 bearings
pig wheels, don't remember the size but I think they're too soft.

i have this, but I hardly consider it a cruiser. fun to keep on hand in case you get stuck at a spot and wanna dork around on a weird board

Does that thing feel like it's ever going to break? Iv'e always wanted one but Im scared I would just snap that crailtap wood.

I love the shape of that blue crailtap board, I wish they sold the deck seperately and made it a 7.5 like the zip zinger instead of 7.125

Almost bought some carpet and Liquid Nails at the hardware store but calculated it'd cost about the same as a sheet of griptape.  Maybe next time if I find some interesting carpet scraps for free.

Anyone used astroturf before?

When you guys (especially you, sweatercuff) are cutting a board down into a cruiser, do you have a template of some sort on hand, or are you just estimating a shape that might be fun to ride?
Look I'm not selling anything that doesn't have my jizz on it. I don't care how much is offered.

you can do it either way. Sometimes I'll use my existing cruisers to trace a shape on to a board with pencil, and then go back over it with small adjustments to make it turn out different. sometimes I'll eyeball it right from the start. and other times I'll make it shaped exactly like other boards I've made. One things for sure, the old adage measure twice cut once, definitely applies.

And I can't remember ever hearing of a astro-turftopped skateboard, but it sounds awesome.
next step: Chia Pet Grip.

there was this dude that used to live a few houses down from a miniramp i used to skate a lot in carlsbad that had a "barefoot setup." he had that foamy, spongy stuff they put on skimboards and wakeboards for grip on a zig zagger type shape with some big soft wheels.... he'd just use it to cruise to the store or go check the surf or whatever a dude with a "barefoot setup" does....  sometimes he'd roll over, join in on sessions on the minramp as well, and actually had a decent bag of tricks.

awesome weirdo, i salute you.

i paid $7 in total($5 for the doormat and $2 for the liquid nails) which isn't bad considering its a cruiser and i know i'll have it for a while.  i wouldn't waste my money on it if it was for a street setup.
you can always go to a carpet place and ask them for a piece as big as the board.  most of the time they'll give it to you for free.  its not like they can actually sell a 32" x 9" piece of carpet.

Yeah, bought a sheet of grip but was still thinking about doing the carpet board so I got a 27 inch long piece cut about a foot wide.  Probably gonna cut that piece up and get creative.  Maybe just stick it in the middle and put left over griptape from another board I plan to grip on the edges?

no, you shouldn't.generally,  they just end up getting loose and rattling and being a pain in the ass. there's a reason everyone stopped riding them over a decade ago.

I thought 149s would be too narrow for that 9.25 board...

Looks sick. Sort of want.

the widest point of the board is in the center and those wheels are much wider than normal wheels so it give the tricks a wider profile. if it was me i would still go for 169's though

It's 9.25 at it's widest point, at the bolts though it's probably 8.75 so 149s are fine.

Set this up a few months a go. Hyped on it. I got Satori Goo Balls 59mm, really soft with some 139 Indy's a long with some shitty $10 mini logo bearings. I also use the Krooked Risers on it.

Just needs some nice soft wheels, bearings, and a new grip job, and it will be good to go.

Cold War "The Nuke"
65mm Krypto
Indy 146
Swiss

This thing is great.  It's a tad over 8" at it's widest and has a 14.25 wheelbase.  This one is old, so it's the original MM wood made in PDX, Oregon.

I'm doing my head in about wheels.  Got some Indy 149s for my Zig Zagger, and i'm stoked asides from making the board way heavier.  But i'm riding 54mm Spitfire Classics, and whilst they're good they're kind of annoying on the rough roads, but I want to keep the feel of a regular skateboard, or at least a semblance of one.  I'm thinking of OJs or Bones ATF, but i'm not sure.  I used to LOVE OJs as a kid, and remember them sliding really well, but who knows what I was thinking back then.
