other than being softer, how do 80hd's compare to keyframes?

The 80hds feel like the super soft OJ juices. Bouncy, roll over anything and make ollies feel awkward. Key frames and Bones rough riders are soft enough to roll over most stuff without a problem, but you can still ollie and do some tricks without that wonky pop, in my experience.

I want to build a cruiser and was thinking about buying the classic 5boro in 8.0

Do you guys know who manufactures it?

They're fucking terrible. If you mean the Spitfire 80HDs. I have those and Keyframes in 54 mm both with a conical shape and have compared them side to side many times. The Spitfires are much harder than the Keyframes but still not hard enough to actually slide. They're the worst of both worlds. I can't see any reason at all for getting them.

Not sure if I posted mine in here, but I’m riding the 7.75 version of this as a cruiser. Love the size and shape however The wood is not the best on the one I got. Plys are delaming and cracking. I’ve been skating 5B boards for the last couple years and never had much of an issue.
I’m very athletic, I enjoy the arts.

Zip Zinger
Ace 22s stock
OJ Super Juice mini 55mm
Indy bolts and risers
Modus titanium bearings

One of the funniest set ups I’ve ever had and I was fool for not trying Ace for all these years. Turn quick like a thunder but are super stable even hella loose. And they have some of if not the highest quality bushings I’ve ever felt.

Haha. Thanks. I love this thing so much. Definitely my favorite shape for a cruiser compared to bigger decks.

Also, can you post a top shot of that hammers board?

I live in an area with rough asphalt and brick floors.

Anybody has experience with cruiser wheels for rough (er) surfaces? Currently trying to choose between 60mm oj's or 65mm duster wheels, both 78a, will probably get the dusters tho

60 mm 78A Ricta Clouds are great. Wide and soft. Will roll over anything. I live in a city with asphalt so rough, you might mistake it for a potato field.

I'd say the OJs. My 55mm Super Juice's are amazing and fast as hell. Plus I couldn't go above 60mm regardless of what size/shape deck they were on.

Here’s the top of the hammers board

It’s 8.25 at the widest

Thanks! While I'd personally rather have a slightly wider deck and I'd wish the nose was a little less round, that shape still looks super nice.

For a cruiser where you are pushing a lot, I’d recommend 60mm max. I’ve tried 63 and 66mm but the added height of risers and wheel makes pushing more uncomfortable imo, especially long distance.

I’d only go more than 60mm if you’re riding downhill
or a gnarled ditch or full pipe like glory hole (cheese grater surfaces). Downhill on a giant wheel drastically increases your speed

I mean....yeah. I don’t hear about people liking the Indy turn more than Ace. You can make arguments for Indy I suppose....for just straight up ‘gliding, turning, Gesmaring’ aka cruising....ace.

I only swapped out the bushing washers. I was standing on it in my kitchen after I set it up, so I could get a feel for the trucks, and when I picked it up I noticed that one of the bushings had “popped” out. Taking the advice of another poster in the Ace trucks thread, I decided to use the Independent washers that I had in my survival kit. I’ve only ridden it to the liquor store once so far, but no “popped” bushings yet...

Oh right on. I haven’t had any bushings “pop” but the ones in my copper 55s are crooked. The board veers right when you just push it in front of you. But once I’m on it it doesn’t affect the turning at all.

My 55's are the same - doesn't bother me at all but is worth noting.
