Maybe been done before, but it was being talked about it another thread, so here it is.

As you can tell, I loved the way Watterson did motion.

Calvin and Hobbes as well as The Far Side are my two favorite comics of all time.  As a matter of fact, for my next tat i am thinking of getting Hobbes tackling Calvin as he walks in the door.

Calvin and Hobbes is the fucking best. Frisco, you could get the box set.

My favorites were the ones he did in the last few years of cartooning.

These (or anyone where he builds something with snow) were always my favorite. Next time I go over to my mom's house I have to snag a couple of the books.

fuck yeah! Calvin and Hobbes were my best friends growing up, I have every book and the box set too and still read them all quite frequently, I've read each strip at least 100x.  I remember hearing they were going to do a movie a few years back but Watterson doesn't want to give anyone any rights to his work. So much respect for that dude and his work! Awesome thread, mon!!

Calvin and Hobbes has been my favorite comic forever. I was bummed when Waterson decided to retire. I still laugh when I read them though. I always liked the little devious grin of Calvin when he has a trick or 2 up his sleeve.

I love when Calvin & Hobbes gets philosophical.

I love all of the snowmen comics, but this one is probably my favorite.

calvin and hobbes was always, and will always be my favorite strip.  when i was doing comic strips instead of my graphic novel i'm doing now, it was very clear that i was basically doing calvin grown up.

If I'm not confused, this is the last Calvin and Hobbes strip ever. Such an amazing finale to the most amazing comic strip ever. When I first started reading this strip I was around Calvin's age and loved it. Now looking back I love it even more. Its a total celebration of the imagination and curiousity that surrounds childhood.

that's what I always loved about it, he was dropping wisdom beyond my years while causing chaos that I could relate to as a kid

Did anyone get the 10th anniversary book? It had some really good write ups on Watterson's fight against licensing, his inspiration for the characters, the thought processes behind some of the memes of the strip (the snowmen, Calvin's wagon), and a lot of his personal favorite strips. I don't think any of it was featured in the box set, so I'd definitely grab it if I saw it again.

I'll probably be posting in this thread a lot.

I really want to thank everypennyfedcar and get some for this amazing thread and link respectively. So much amazing stuff. The only Calvin & Hobbes I ever read as a kid was in English because we couldn't get them in Dutch and I finished reading the book in no time. I'm glad the internet offers me more to read.
