Give or take everyones got their own opinion. Upon reading this threads title I was gona hop in and say lizard king, but I must say seeing any of these dudes skate in person is amazing. I thought lizards skating was gross but seeing him blast a backside flip got me psyched to go skate. Dudes I see in videos who I thought had doodoo style are completely different in person. I wasn't a fan of danny fuenzalidas parts but seein him in person changed my opinion. Idk

good point. it's not about the video footage it's about how it actually is. some dude definitely come across as gross or not talented in a video and then in person they surprise you big time. it's kinda more about the method than the style for me

I don't dislike the guy whatsoever, but I'm surprised at the number of people who seem to love Chris Cole's style. I like to watch his skating for sure, but I've always thought there was a little something odd about his style. A friend of mine said it was Popeye style.

Anyway, like the title of the thread says, I just can't seem to get into his skating as much as a lot of people seem to. But I ain't hating!

i think most people dont like him for his style but for the tricks he does, you know like bs 360 kicky down carlsbad, crooked nollie inwardheel down a rail shit like that. although i cant hate on his style, purley because its quite similar to my own in the way that he normally lands quite "straight legged" rather than all crouched down. (not saying thats a good thing, just saying if i hate on his its a bit like hating on my own HA)

I can see where you're coming from with Silas, but having just gotten into skating when his Powell slick deck (or whatever they were) ads were coming out in that Skate 1 zine, and having followed him more or less since then, I'm way too impressed by his ability do do just about anything to not like the guy. It's pretty cool to see him skate in person too, if you happen to live in Portland.

haha, I actually like adam dyet, in the sense that I want to see footage from him because hes really fucking good. I'm not super stoked on him or anything. Dude nollie fs 360 heeled a legitimate gap awhile ago in a darkstar ad.


And I really can't get all that into the blueprint team, or that lucien clarke dude. english skateboarding seems really dull to me. maybe its the cloudy sky and shitty terrain in all the footage. there are a few parts i like in the blueprint videos though, especially rattray's part in the old one.


I like bobby puleo's parts, especially the one with KRS, but his type of skating is really fucking boring in photographic form, and he kinda seems like a prick.


yeah mikey taylor too. out of the prod/jereme/mike taylor group, i always liked him the least, and now hes even more boring. his last line in skate more is one of the worst enders i've seen in a part.
